◀ 梅倫格舞What is Merengue?
Merengue is the national dance and music style in the Dominican Republic. This dance is very expressive and full of emotion.
The origin of Merengue is unclear. There are two popular versions of its origin. One story says that the dance originated with black slaves who were chained together and forced to drag one leg. The second story indicates that a great hero was wounded in the leg during wars. The villagers welcomed him home with a victory celebration and, out of sympathy, everyone danced with one foot dragged.
Merengue dance and music usually features instrument such as accordion, saxophone, tambora and guiro.
梅倫格舞是多明尼加非常流行的舞蹈與音樂形式，它充滿活力與激情，混合了西班牙和非洲風格。梅倫格舞的起源不甚明確，有一說法為來自古巴海地的黑奴，由於腳被銬在一起，受命為殖民者表演時，動起來像兩人三腳。也有些人認為梅倫格舞是村民為了歡迎於戰爭歸來英雄，英雄的腿受了傷，因此在慶祝跳舞時，村民出於同理心，拖著一隻腳跳舞。梅倫格舞的伴奏樂器有手風琴、薩克斯風、天巴鼓(Tambora)和刮弧(Guiro)。
