沙漠中深度傾聽 Deep Listening in Deserts

關於聲音、環境與影像生成的跨域對談。我們習慣把「沙漠」想像成空白與寂靜，但真的是這樣嗎？本活動將由 Lythologies、Fieldscape 與融聲創意共作團隊共同帶領，以聲音作為入口，重新理解沙漠作為一種環境摩擦帶：其中包含微生物的活動、文化與歷史的層積，以及屬於地質與深時間的運動。
透過 Haamid Rahim 與 Ugo Nani 的合作聲音作品，我們嘗試將「傾聽」從耳朵擴展到更多維度。感測儀器捕捉聽不見的頻率、科技轉譯看不見的訊號，以及透過身體參與的傾聽方式。我們也會逐字拆解《在沙漠中深度傾聽》這個標題，思考語言如何形塑我們對環境的理解。
活動將以輕鬆及開放式的對談，討論聲音如何成為一種理解與描繪被刻板化的「荒境」的工具。對談將以英文進行，現場會提供 AI 翻譯。

設計與研究實踐者，聚焦感官研究與具身田野，將環境、飲食與技術融入感知實驗與場域工作。曾與紀柏豪於 MIT 相關計畫交流與協作。

藝術家與研究者，關注生態、影像與聲音的跨域敘事，延展田野資料的轉譯方法與展演策略。
簡介
以跨學科的慢聆聽為核心，播放並討論來自斯瓦爾巴群島 Svalbard Archipelago 的冰川錄音與相關專案片段，並置入零重力 zero-g 聆聽研究經驗。主軸聚焦聲音作為研究輸入與表演輸出之間的轉換、極端環境的採集方法與倫理，以及「何為可聽」的技術與感知邊界。視覺素材將包含新奧勒松 Ny-Ålesund 研究站與錄音裝置圖像。
Deep Listening in Deserts
A Listening Session and Conversation on Sound, Ecology, and Image-Making
How do we listen to places we are taught to imagine as empty? This event brings together artists and researchers from Lythologies, Fieldscape, and Zone Sound Collective to explore “deserts” not as lifeless voids, but as sites of environmental friction, microbial activity, cultural memory, and deep time.
Through a collaborative listening session featuring sound works by Haamid Rahim and Ugo Nani, we expand “listening” beyond the ear: to instruments that sense hidden frequencies, to geological rhythms, and to technologies that translate the imperceptible. We deconstruct each term in the title “deep, listening, deserts” to reveal how language frames (and limits) our understanding of landscape.
The gathering includes visual materials from ongoing field research, and an open discussion on how sound becomes a method for encountering environments often flattened by popular imagination. AI-assisted multilingual support will be available throughout the event.
