蓬塔努斯與大港 Pontanus and Taikang
我迷戀賽鴿歸巢的本能，甚至到某種狂熱的程度，卻私心的想知道不是台灣原生種的鴿子究竟從何而來。在大量史料的挖掘爬梳下，卻意外的認識了荷蘭東印度公司雇員蓬塔努斯（Pontanus），他在福爾摩沙的處境與遭遇就如同美麗島的命運翻版。這場「講述表演」即是演繹著他在蘭船東去航線下遍處尋覓自己心愛鴿子的故事，更直白的說，我就是隨著這位帝國幽靈穿越劇般在他鄉異國情調下，偕行遊歷綺麗福爾摩沙旅程，也對照既存在於現實的又存在於想像當下的。
I am fascinated—almost obsessively so—by racing pigeon’s homing instinct. Yet, I also wonder about the origins of Taiwan’s pigeons, which are not native to this land. Through extensive research into historical records, I unexpectedly encountered Pontanus, a Dutch East India Company employee. His circumstances and experiences in Formosa seemed to echo the fate of this beautiful island. This “lecture performance” interprets his story of searching for his beloved pigeons along the routes of Dutch ships sailing east. To put it more plainly, I am following this ghost of an empire to travel back in time and explore Formosa’s enchanting and exotic landscapes, in which the journey contrasts the reality of the present with the ephemeral moments of imagination.

▍李立中 LEE Li-Chung
李立中，六年九班台南人，文化大學印刷系畢業，曾為北漂族從事時尚雜誌美術編輯，2012年辭掉工作後搬回台南生活。近年來迷戀賽鴿歸巢本能，欲透過賽鴿文化研究，對歸屬、宿命、後全球化等議題建構自我對話路徑。
Born in 1980 in Tainan, LEE Li-Chung graduated from the Department of Information and Communications, Chinese Culture University. Formerly working as a fashion magazine editor in the Northern Taiwan, he resigned and returned to Tainan in 2012. Recently, LEE has been fond of the homing instinct of racing pigeons. Through the studies of the pigeon racing culture, he aims to construct the routes of self-dialogue with respect to issues like belonging, fate, and post-globalization.
