「共創城市」論壇講者 Christian Marc Schmidt (克里斯汀．馬克．施密特) 將會在工作坊中，介紹互動式和動態的資料視覺化軟體：Processing。Processing 是個開放式製作軟體，它擁有簡單的操作頁面，強而有力的表達方式，和各式各樣結構可以應用在資料的輸出，是非常適合資料視覺化的平台。這次工作坊之後，參與者可以對Processing 有基本認識，也會了解如何利用Processing 來製作簡單的圖像呈現。
這門介紹課程針對學生、藝術家、設計師、研究者和對視覺藝術程式有興趣的人量身打造，也不須有相關經驗。全程將會以英文進行。

講師簡介：
Christian Marc Schmidt 是西雅圖Schema 創意設計科技工作室的負責人。Schema 著重在互動設計和數據視覺化的交集，而他們的顧客從彭博、微軟等大公司到新興公司如Actively Learn，華盛頓大學等機構都有。
克里斯汀的經驗橫跨許多領域如信息設計、互動設計、媒體安裝等。在2012成立Schema之前，Christian 不只是微軟的資深設計師、Pentagram 設計公司合夥人，也是IDEO 公司的互動設計師。在Pentagram 時，克里斯汀擔任非營利組織 “One Laptop per Child” 的首席設計師，設計專供開發中國家小孩使用的電腦界面。他在這個計畫中的作品更已經被紐約現代藝術博物館列為永久展覽品。

How do visual designers take large quantities of data and sort the information into decipherable, easy-to-understand graphs?
Forum speaker Christian Marc Schmidt will host an introductory class on interactive and dynamic data visualization using the open-source drawing software: Processing. Processing is a great environment for data visualization, with a simple interface, a powerful language, and a rich set of mechanisms for data and application export. After this class, participants should have the basic understanding of how to use Processing to build simple graphical presentations and applications.
The session is tailored to students, artists, designers, researchers, and folks interested in exploring visual arts programming. No prior coding experience is required. Class will be conducted in English.
