Living On/Living In 朱理安、陳楷仁 聯展
Living On / Living In explores two states of existence—“living on the surface” and “living within”—examining how life experiences unfold, accumulate, and continue to shape the ways we perceive and understand the world.
Starting from bodily experience, Jhu Li-an explores emotions and sensations that are difficult to put into words through the postures and expressions of his figures. His works reveal how everyday experiences leave traces on the body, emotions, and memory, reflecting the sense of continuity embodied in “Living On."
Chen Kai-Ren, on the other hand, takes the concept of the “surface layer” as a central theme. Through humorous yet nuanced observations, he captures the people, behaviours, and interactions of everyday life, portraying the state of “Living In”—how individuals inhabit different situations and continuously engage with the world around them.
Through their distinct perspectives, the two artists offer different responses to everyday life, revealing how our daily encounters with the world shape our emotions, perceptions, and memories.
