What does meaningful social impact really look like?
For the ninth edition of Tipsy Talks, we are delighted to welcome SALT Collectiv, this year's winners of the Better Business Award for Social Enterprise from the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, for an afternoon of stories, reflections, and conversation about community, compassion, and social impact.
Founded in 2017, SALT Collectiv is a diverse international non-profit community based in Taiwan, dedicated to empowering vulnerable and marginalised populations through dignity-centred relief, educational support, and community engagement. Through programmes supporting people experiencing homelessness, children in orphanages, students, and local communities, SALT has built a unique model that connects people from different cultures and backgrounds around a shared purpose: serving others.
To date, SALT has mobilised more than 7,000 volunteers, served over 24,000 freshly prepared meals, and touched more than 35,000 lives across Taiwan.
This is an informal sharing session over drinks at the House of Story Wear Library Bar. Together, we'll explore:
• How SALT Collectiv grew from a small volunteer initiative into one of Taiwan's most impactful service communities
• The human stories behind programmes supporting the unhoused, orphaned children, and other vulnerable groups
• What it takes to build a culture of giving and sustained volunteer engagement
• How businesses, communities, and individuals can work together to create lasting social impact
• Why dignity, empathy, and human connection matter more than ever in today's world
Whether you are interested in social entrepreneurship, volunteering, sustainability, community building, or simply curious to hear inspiring stories of people making a difference, this promises to be an evening of thoughtful conversation and fresh perspectives.
