我們生活在一個日益複雜與充滿不確定性的時代。我們在組織、社區和社會中所面臨的挑戰愈發交織連動——而那些我們所熟悉的解決方案往往已經不敷使用。
當前方的道路並不明朗時，我們該如何與彼此保持對話？當觀點分歧、緊張局勢升溫，且沒有簡單的答案時，我們該如何傾聽？
然而，在這樣一個複雜且快速變化的環境中，對話經常被視為一種軟實力——一種伴隨「真正」決策工具而存在的附屬品。在這場分享中我們抱持相反的觀點：對話本身就是一種在複雜情境中感知與行動的方法，它能浮現出傳統分析所遺漏的隱性知識、生活經驗以及新興模式。
本場次借鑒複雜性科學與基於敘事的實務經驗，探討結構化的傾聽如何幫助領導者與變革推動者在不確定性中導航，而不會在混亂且不斷演變的情況中強求過早的收斂。參與者不會被要求尋求共識或單一的「正確」故事，而是會接觸到「軼事圈（Anecdote Circle）」——這是一種對話式的方法，旨在呈現團體或系統內的多重觀點、微弱信號以及生活經驗的紋理。
本場次將以一段關於對話與複雜性的簡短框架式簡報開場，隨後進行小組座談，探討這些概念如何呈現在參與者各自的情境中。場次的大部分時間將進入小組分組活動，參與者將直接演練這項練習——在彼此的故事中傾聽模式、差異與可能性。

關於講者
Jules Yim 是 The Cynefin Company 的資深顧問，在全球從事複雜性科學、組織前瞻性與引導工作的交匯領域。Jules 的實務工作運用了 Cynefin 方法，包括 SenseMaker®、Future Backwards、Estuarine Mapping 與 HEXI 套件，以協助組織在不確定性中採取行動、感知與回應。Jules 駐於新加坡，同時也是一位具備英國語言學與文學學術背景的作家，並為海洋龐克（Seapunk）運動的共同創辦人。

The Power of Dialogue — Conversations with the Masters
Listening in the Labyrinth: Dialogue as a Practice for Complex Times
We live in a time of growing complexity and uncertainty. The challenges we face in our organizations, communities, and societies are increasingly interconnected—and familiar solutions are often no longer enough.
When the way forward is unclear, how do we stay in conversation with one another? How do we listen when perspectives differ, tensions arise, and there are no easy answers?
However, in such a complex, fast-changing environments, dialogue is often treated as a soft skill – a nice-to-have alongside "real" decision-making tools. This session argues the opposite: dialogue is itself a method for sensing and acting in complexity, one that surfaces the tacit knowledge, lived experience, and emergent patterns that conventional analysis misses.
Drawing on complexity science and narrative-based practice, this session explores how structured listening can help leaders and changemakers navigate uncertainty without forcing premature convergence onto messy, evolving situations. Rather than seeking consensus or a single "right" story, participants will be introduced to the Anecdote Circle – a dialogic method for surfacing multiple perspectives, weak signals, and the texture of lived experience within a group or system.
The session will open with a short framing presentation on dialogue and complexity, followed by a panel conversation exploring how these ideas show up in participants' own contexts. The bulk of the session will then move into small-group breakouts, where participants will practice the exercise directly – listening for pattern, difference, and possibility in one another's stories.

About the Speaker
Jules Yim is a Senior Consultant at The Cynefin Company, working at the intersection of complexity science, organizational foresight, and facilitation across the world. Jules's practice draws on Cynefin methods including SenseMaker®, Future Backwards, Estuarine Mapping, and HEXI kits to help organizations act, sense, and respond in uncertainty. Based in Singapore, Jules is also a writer with an academic background in English Linguistics and Literature, and co-founder of the Seapunk movement.
