本節目為IRCAM委託作曲家馬丁．馬塔隆(Martin Matalon)與BL!NDMAN打擊樂團邀請六位年輕作曲家參與電影音樂工作坊，作為 2024 ManiFeste藝術節學院計畫(Académie)的一環 。工作坊為擊樂與電子音樂進行創作，發掘器樂與電聲豐富多彩的聲響層次，為經典默片喜劇全新創作曲樂及演出。
兩部跨越百年的默片喜劇，在擊樂與電子聲響的交織下重新甦醒。本次邀請臺灣擊樂演奏家翁明榆演繹這兩部經典默片《The Cook》與《Out of the Inkwell》及六段當代曲目，運用IRCAM電子音樂科技，讓擊樂與電子聲響隨默片影像同步現場演繹。荒誕逗趣的默片喜劇，在當代聲音語彙中被賦予新生命，帶領觀眾穿越百年影像時空，感受默片電影與當代新音樂古今交織出的奇妙對話。
Commissioned by IRCAM, composer Martin Matalon and percussion ensemble BL!NDMAN invited six young composers to take part in a ciné-concert workshop, as part of the ManiFeste-2024 Academy.. Writing for percussion and electronics, the composers explored the rich and varied layers of sound created through the interaction of acoustic instruments and electroacoustic elements, developing entirely new scores for classic silent comedies.
A century after their creation, two silent comedies are brought back to life through percussion and electronic sound. For this premiere, Taiwanese percussionist WENG Ming-Yu performs six contemporary scores accompanying The Cook and shorts from the Out of the Inkwell series. With IRCAM’s electronic music technologies, percussion and electronics are performed live in synchronization with the images on screen. These absurd and delightfully comic films are thus reimagined through a contemporary sonic vocabulary, inviting audiences to traverse a century of moving images and experience a playful dialogue between early cinema and the music of our own time.
