延續去年的創研成果,「聲境謎響-II」由國立陽明交通大學音樂研究所創作與科技組 - 電腦音樂團隊,在Jacob Sudol 司徒雅各教授與曾毓忠教授帶領下為觀眾帶來一場以器樂科技互動、AI音樂共創、現場編碼、以及沉浸劇院等為主軸之「聲境謎響」音樂會。

「聲境謎響-II」描繪一場聲音與空間交融、科技與聽覺感知的聲音旅程。聲境猶如感官漫遊於聲波編織的幻化時空;謎響意在表現人與機器、音樂與程式間交錯所激盪出充滿懸念、讓人捉摸不透與難以預測,以及在「虛實」之間消長搖擺的謎樣聲波行跡。

「聲境謎響-II」音樂會的作品緊密連結當代科學與技術,探索與運用各式新興電腦/電子科技,進行音樂跨域創作實驗以及創意表演。音樂會科技含金量十足,曲目多元而豐富,包含:

  • 結合電腦互動程式Max/MSP與傳統東西方樂器演奏之混合類電子音樂(mixed works)
  • 運用AI驅動圖形生成程式AudioStellar,以2D視覺直觀方式進行數據驅動(data-driven)與創演的現場互動電子音樂(live electronics)
  • 運用聲響空間程式IRCAM_Spat5,以多聲道沉浸式為主要聆聽訴求的電聲音樂(acousmatic music)
  • 結合AI音樂程式IRCAM_Somax 2,進行演奏家與電腦共創對話之新型態AI音樂

為特別回應當下AI音樂之浪潮,作曲家亦將運用具機器聆聽、生成模型、及認知記憶和學習的法國IRCAM 之AI人工智慧程式Somax 2,進行人機音樂之共創與對話,為本音樂會增添另一演出之新模式。

由陽明交大電腦音樂專業師生聯手策劃之「聲境謎響-II」,在器樂即時互動、AI共創、現場演繹、沉浸聲響之間,音樂會不再只是聲音傳遞,而是生成、轉化與誘發共鳴感知的場域,帶領聽眾經歷一趟充滿神秘氛圍與謎漾般聲響之聽覺美感旅程。

Building on last year’s creative research, Sonic Enigma II is presented by the Computer Music Team of the Composition and Technology Division, Institute of Music, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), under the direction of Professors Jacob Sudol and TSENG Yu-Chung. The concert centers on instrument–technology interaction, AI music co-creation, live coding and immersive theater.

Sonic Enigma II takes the audience on a sonic journey where sound merges with space and technology meets auditory perception. The “sonic” conjures a sensory passage through shifting realms of time and space woven from sound waves; the “enigma” lies in the suspense, elusiveness and unpredictability that emerge at the intersections of human and machine, music and code — traces of sound that waver between the virtual and the real.

Rooted in contemporary developments in science and technology, the works in Sonic Enigma II explore and employ a range of emerging computer and electronic technologies through cross-disciplinary experiments in musical creation and performance. The program spans a diverse range of technologically driven works, including:

  • Mixed works combining Max/MSP interactive programming with traditional Eastern and Western instruments;
  • Live electronics using AudioStellar, an AI-driven visual generation program, to facilitate data-driven creation and interactive live performance through an intuitive 2D visual interface;
  • Acousmatic music using IRCAM’s Spat5 spatialization software, with an emphasis on immersive multichannel listening;
  • A new form of AI music using IRCAM’s Somax 2 to enable a co-creative dialogue between performer and computer.

In direct response to the current wave of AI music, the composers will also employ Somax 2, an AI system developed by IRCAM in France that incorporates machine listening, generative models, and cognitive approaches to memory and learning. Through Somax 2, performers and computer engage in musical co-creation and dialogue, introducing a further mode of performance to the concert.

Jointly curated by NYCU faculty and students specializing in computer music, Sonic Enigma II brings together real-time instrumental interaction, AI co-creation, live performance, and immersive sound. Here, the concert is no longer simply a medium for the transmission of sound, but a site where sound is generated and transformed, and where resonant perception is elicited. It leads listeners on an aesthetic auditory journey through an atmosphere of mystery and enigmatic sounds.
