Theo Angelopoulos is widely regarded as the most preeminent filmmaker in Greek cinema history, notably winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes for Eternity and a Day. Renowned for his signature long takes and mesmerizing mise-en-scène, he masterfully blurred the boundaries between reality, history, and dreams through a lingering, fluid gaze.
His most celebrated masterpieces include The Travelling Players and Ulysses' Gaze.
