深夜，少年邀請老水手一同跳海。
老水手以飲酒為藉口將少年帶到酒吧，結識一票舞女，其中正包含水手的喑啞女兒。兩人穿梭於寂靜的城市與向日葵田，對話、纏綿，少年感悟生命的價值與情感連結，黯淡的生命有了裂縫，陽光灑落。
朝陽升起，老水手帶著微笑縱身躍入深海。
本片以克制且優雅的長鏡頭書寫兩段生命：一曲輓歌，一曲重生。流動的意象與對話有如浸潤於一場死亡詰問，時而憤怒時而溫柔，展現蒙岱羅作品中痛苦與精神天堂共存的特色。
In the deep of night, a youth invites an old sailor to join him in a final plunge. Instead, the sailor draws him into a world of bars and dancers, including his own silent daughter. Through conversations and stolen moments amidst sunflowers, the youth finds a tether to life; a crack appears in his darkness, and light breaks through. At dawn, the sailor fulfills his destiny with a smile.
This film uses a poetic, long-take aesthetic to compose a dual symphony of death and renewal. Its flowing imagery serves as a haunting inquiry into mortality—swinging between rage and tenderness—showcasing Monteiro’s unique vision where agony and spiritual ecstasy reside together.
▌導演介紹 About the Director
朱奧·西薩·蒙岱羅，葡萄牙導演、演員、作家、影評人。
生長於反教權和反法西斯的家庭，為最具爭議性的葡萄牙導演之一，以獨特且略帶實驗性的美學見長。以《希爾維斯特》(1982)進入第38屆威尼斯影展正式競賽單元，代表作為《最後一跳》(1992)、《上帝的喜劇》(1995)、《白雪》(2000)等。2003年因癌症病逝於里斯本。
João César Monteiro was a Portuguese director, actor, writer, and film critic. Born into an anti-clerical and anti-fascist family, he became one of Portugal’s most controversial filmmakers, renowned for his idiosyncratic and experimental aesthetics. He entered the official competition of the 38th Venice Film Festival with Silvestre (1982). His most acclaimed works include The Last Dive (1992), God's Comedy (1995), and Snow White (2000). Monteiro passed away in Lisbon in 2003 due to cancer.
