Interwoven Public Talk
Date | Saturday, March 21, 2026
Time | 14:00–15:30
Venue | Auditorium, B3, New Taipei City Art Museum
Admission | Free
Artist | Tomás Saraceno
Moderator / Discussant | HSIEH Feng-Rong
Discussant | HUNG Kuang-chi
Interwoven begins with the sensory networks of spiders and extends toward atmospheres, energy, and multispecies coexistence, inviting audiences to reconsider humanity's position within Earth's living systems. The exhibition not only presents Saraceno's long-standing engagement with environmental questions, but also opens deeper reflections on universe through interdisciplinary collaborations between art and science.
This talk features a conversation between artists Tomás Saraceno with Senior Curator Hsieh Feng-Rong of the New Taipei City Art Museum and scholar of historical geography and environmental history Hung Kuang-chi. Together, they will explore how artistic practice can become a medium for reimagining social relations and ecological ethics, and consider how air, perception, and coexistence might shape possible futures.
*The talk will be conducted with consecutive interpretation in Mandarin and English.*
Artist / Speaker Biographies
Tomás Saraceno
Tomás Saraceno (b. 1973) is an Argentina-born, Berlin-based artist whose projects devise platforms for ecosocial, participatory, and installative encounters, that host and amplify regenerative forms of knowledge. Connecting across scales and spectra—from the inaudible vibrations communicated along a spider’s silken thread, to the aerostatics of floating sculptures, and the filamentary cosmic web—his work builds bridges of ‘response-ability’ that seek to move audiences towards deeper reciprocity and attunement with other beings in the web(s) of life.
HUNG Kuang-chi
Hung Kuang-chi is a scholar of historical geography and environmental history. He teaches in the Department of Geography at National Taiwan University, and is dedicated to exploring the multiple possibilities of archival research, fieldwork, environmental writing, and curatorial practice.
HSIEH Feng-Rong
Hsieh Feng-Rong is Senior Curator at the New Taipei City Art Museum. His curatorial practice engages with issues of mobility and migration, trans-regional narratives, and the politics of the body and space. Approaching curating as a method, he seeks to create temporary public spaces and communities, exploring possibilities for self-empowerment and the construction of social relations. Recent exhibitions include Reimagining Radical Cities (co-curated with Amy Cheng, New Taipei, 2025), Interweaving Travelers (New Taipei, 2023), and Before the Whistle Blows (Shanghai, 2019).
