鳳甲美術館很榮幸推出藝術家李明學的全新個展「一加一」，藝術家此次個展將於「鳳甲美術館」以及「等號藝術空間」同步展出。
展覽圍繞在「加」這個具穿越性與連結性的動作——強調它不只是指向數量的增加、物理的合併或情感的提升，「加」更是一種語意動能，是讓「某個對象物」增加一些什麼，得以與另一個「一」對話、摩擦、並置、錯位、轉化的行動。換言之，「一加ㄧ」的目的不是要產生穩定的「二」，而是一次組構性的動作：將兩個異質元素置於關係之中，創造出一個新的結構可能性。「一加一」的兩兩相加，不是去探討總和或是數量的合併，而是尋求意識、物質、感知與記憶的交錯生成。在看似單純的關係模式中，啟動形式與力量之間的事件張力。在這裡，「一」不再是孤立的單位，而是一種共構的存在，關於相遇，與轉化的過程。
展覽探討關於動物、消費、勞動與邊界等概念於日常間的交織，藉由許多「動物」衍生出的相關符號，讓視覺搖擺於熟悉與陌生之間，成為象徵、記憶與欲望混搭的載體，彼此呼應、互補與對話。一個展場，加上另一個展場的思考，讓「一加一」不只是元素間、作品間的並置、穿越與結合，更使身體行走於兩展場時，現實生活的中斷，打開城市空間、停佇等片刻交織到與作品對話的可能，以此多重佈局，構築異質性方向性的探索其可被詮釋的新關係與感知經驗。
如同展覽名稱，「一加一」不是答案，而是一個過程、一個提問：在這個多元又斷裂的世界裡，什麼樣的連結是可能？

Hong-Gah Museum is very honored to present James Ming-Hsueh Lee’s new exhibition, One Plus One. The exhibitions will take place at Hong-Gah Museum and Equal = Art Space.
One Plus One emphasizes the act of “adding” — a gesture of transversality and connection. It is not merely about numerical increase, physical combination, or emotional intensification. Rather, “adding” functions as a kind of semantic dynamism — an action that allows one entity to gain something, to engage, collide, juxtapose, misalign, or transform in relation to another “one.” In other words, One Plus One does not aim to produce a stable “two,” but rather enacts a generative process: placing two heterogeneous elements into relation in order to create new structural possibilities. The “addition” here is not about summation or accumulation, but about the interweaving of consciousness, matter, perception, and memory. Within this seemingly simple relational model, the exhibition activates a field of tension between form and force. Here, the “one” is no longer an isolated unit but a co-constituted existence — a process of encounter and transformation.
The exhibition explores the entanglements of animality, consumption, labor, and boundaries in everyday life. Through a range of animal-related symbols, the works oscillate between the familiar and the strange, becoming vessels of symbol, memory, and desire — resonating with, complementing, and conversing with one another. The dialogue between one venue and the other transforms One Plus One into more than a juxtaposition, traversal, or synthesis of elements and artworks. As visitors move physically between the two sites, the interruption of everyday life opens up moments of pause and spatial crossings that invite encounters with the works. This multi-layered configuration constructs a heterogeneous exploration toward new relational and perceptual possibilities.
As the title suggests, One Plus One is not an answer but a process — a question: In this plural yet fragmented world, what kinds of connections remain possible?
