Pamitisan 的創辦人Keenan Duliesco就從這樣一個生活小發現開始他的創業故事。在菲律賓，比科爾語（Bicol，一種菲律賓東南部地區的地方語言）「Pamitisan」的意思是「腳的擁抱」，也是家家戶戶用舊牛仔褲做成抹布的傳統。他腦海中閃過一個念頭：「如果我們踩在腳下的東西，也能變成可重複使用的鞋子，而不是垃圾，那該有多好？」
Pamitisan原本只是Keenan的大學畢業專案，一開始有15個夥伴加入，但畢業那年，團隊縮減到只剩他一人。很多人可能早就放棄了，但Keenan沒有。他說：「我不想錯過這個機會，也不想未來後悔。」他決定繼續，讓這雙鞋子帶他走出一條不同的路。
每雙鞋子都是他和團隊親手做的：從回收舊牛仔褲、裁剪、縫紉、黏合，到側邊的縫線都是手工縫製。每一雙鞋都是獨一無二的藝術品，耐穿又有故事。Pamitisan 相信「你也可以時尚又永續」——他們的標語是：「我們讓每一步，都有意義。」Keenan希望用這樣的作品，改寫「快速時尚」的浪費問題，讓舊布料重獲新生，不只是丟棄。

With entrepreneurial spirit and perseverance, he transformed Pamitisan into a footwear brand that integrates artistic design with a strong social mission, earning recognition as one of Junior Achievement Philippines’ Top 10 CEOs in 2022.
Have you ever thought that the shoes on your feet might once have been someone else’s jeans?
Keenan Duliesco, founder of Pamitisan, started his entrepreneurial journey from this simple everyday insight. In the Philippines, “Pamitisan” — a word from the Bicol language spoken in the southeastern region — means “a hug for the feet.” It also refers to a traditional practice where families turn old jeans into cleaning rags. Keenan had a thought: “What if the things we step on could become reusable shoes instead of trash?”
Pamitisan began as Keenan’s college graduation project with 15 teammates, but by graduation, only he remained. Many would have given up, but Keenan didn’t. “I didn’t want to miss this opportunity or regret it later,” he said. He decided to carry on, letting these shoes lead him down a different path.
Each pair of shoes is handmade by Keenan and his team—from collecting old jeans, cutting, sewing, gluing, to the hand-stitched side seams. Every pair is a unique work of art: durable and full of stories. Pamitisan believes you can be fashionable by being sustainable — their tagline says it best: “We make every step, a purpose.” Keenan hopes these shoes will challenge the wastefulness of fast fashion, giving old fabrics a new life instead of being discarded.
Pamitisan is more than just footwear—it’s a lifestyle. Keenan wants to show that fashion doesn’t have to be fast or cheap; it can have warmth, meaning, and walk a longer path.
In this lecture, Keenan will personally share the journey of Pamitisan—from its beginnings as a university project to becoming a sustainable brand—and the environmental values behind it.
