This year, Taiwan will host an unprecedented and deeply meaningful botanical art exhibition on the international stage, called BAW 2025 Taiwan. It will dazzle and captivate audiences when it opens on May 9th!
The theme of the Botanical Art Worldwide 2025 (BAW 2025) global botanical art exhibition is "Biodiversity in Crops." Through the artistic presentation of botanical science, the exhibition aims to remind people that the diversity of traditional crops is the key to a sustainable future.
As one of the global exhibition venues, Taiwan has uniquely chosen the theme "Hakka Heritage Crops" to reflect local characteristics. The exhibition will guide visitors through the crops commonly used in Hakka culture and explore their various forms from an artistic perspective. This approach highlights the close relationship between traditional crops and daily life in modern Taiwanese society, as well as the botanical wisdom nurtured by this land.
The Taiwan Association of Botanical Artists (TABA) spent two years curating this exhibition on behalf of Taiwan. They propose the narrative: "Amid the challenges of climate change, habitat loss, and diseases, the genetic wealth contained in diverse traditional crops holds the key to the future."
The exhibition will begin on May 9th, with the opening ceremony scheduled for "World Botanical Art Day" on May 18th. On that day, exhibitions in 30 countries will simultaneously launch. TABA invites you to witness this rare occasion and engage in conversations with distinguished guests and members of the association.
