VII International Jujube Symposium

The organizing committee would like to invite you to participate in the VII International Jujube Symposium, January 26-31, 2026, Kaohsiung, Taiwan (R.O.C), by submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation at the symposium.

Jujube (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam.), also called Indian jujube or green jujube, which has a green and shiny fruit peel, strong antioxidant capacity, rich in various nutrition, and tastes sweet, crispy and juicy. According to the 2022 Agricultural Statistics Annual Report of the Agricultural and Food Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, the total jujube cultivating area in Taiwan is approximately 1,769 hectares, with total yield of 29,110 metric tons. In Miaoli County, 96 hectares of red jujube (Ziziphus jujuba) are cultivated and total yield of 512 metric tons. The VII International Jujube Symposium will be a good opportunity for participants to exchange academic informations and promote the further progress of the jujube industry.
Besides the presentation sessions, we will also arrange a field trip, during which all participants will visit the major jujube production areas, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County, for a close look of cultivation methods in Taiwan. On the first day, we will visit the jujube orchard in Gaoshu Township, Pingtung. On the second day, we will arrive at Yanchao District, Kaohsiung to observe both the export packing house and net house cultivation facility. Also, we will take a visit to “Moon World” at Tianliao Township, which famous with its world-class spectacular mudstone badlands landscape. Without further ado, let’s experience it together!
The symposium will be organized by Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), and under the aegis of the Taiwan Society for Horticultural Society (TSHS) and the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS).

2026年第7屆棗國際研討會 VII International Jujube Symposium
棗為南部高雄、屏東、台南冬季特色水果之一，亦是具有出口潛力水果之一，又苗栗有栽培紅棗，顯示棗果產業具相當特色；為讓國際學者了解我國研發成果、產業發展及提高國際能見度，並學習國際知名棗學者之研究成果，經台灣園藝學會向國際園藝學會(ISHS)申辦並獲同意於2026年1月26日至31日在臺灣辦理2026第7屆棗國際研討會。本研討會將邀請國外專家學者就主題果樹之國際趨勢及未來發展進行交流，以促使臺灣經驗及農業研究成果之國際接軌，並廣邀農業政府機關、國內各級相關大專院校、農業試驗改良場所及民間等相關長官、專家、人員參與，發表研究成果，並作為學術與實務經驗之交流平台，竭誠歡迎各界專家踴躍參加。
活動時間：2026年1月26日(星期一)至30日(星期五)。
