美國鋼琴家Andy Jaffe致力於爵士樂教育，曾獲國際爵士教育組織IAJE頒發「爵士教育傑出貢獻獎」。
安迪賈菲 (Andy Jaffe) ，一位傳奇的爵士教育家、鋼琴家和作曲家。出生於哈里杜魯門 (Harry Truman) 總統時期，在紐約和馬薩諸塞州阿默斯特 (Amherst)長大。 他是一位非常知名的教育家，在1977 年到 1981 年間，任教於伯克利音樂學院 (Berklee College of Music)，他的學生有諸多知名爵士音樂家包括Branford Marsalis、Wallace Roney、Marvin “Smitty” Smith、Claire Daly、Scott Robinson、Frank Lacy 和 Steve Vai。 他在威廉斯學院(Williams College)為創系主任，並指導了爵士樂計畫30 年，期間指導包括貝斯手/樂團領班及作曲家克里斯·萊特卡普(Chris Lightcap)、王力宏(Wang Leehom) 和克里斯汀·安德森·洛佩茲(Kristen Anderson Lopez)。更是已有18年歷史的Williamstown爵士音樂節的創辦人。 在阿默斯特學院（Amherst College）任教期間，他的學生包括現任該學院音樂系主任達裡爾·哈珀（Darryl Harper），以及貝斯手和樂團領導斯特凡·克倫普（Stefan Crump）。 他的演出和教育足跡遍歐洲各地，包括法國土倫爵士音樂節(Toulon Jazz Festival)、馬耳他爵士音樂節(Malta Jazz Festival)，以及在東歐、德國和其他地方的演出，其生涯間撰寫了大量有關爵士樂和聲的書籍、文章和作曲。Andy Jaffe之爵士樂著作 “Jazz Harmony” 更被選為幾乎各大爵士樂系所必備的教材，成為最有影響力的爵士樂教育出版之一。

於威廉斯學院退休後，安迪繼續在佛蒙特美術學院(Vermont College of Fine Arts),的音樂作曲研究所、以及台北藝術大學的麻省理工學院音樂計畫(MIT Music Program)、北京的高等教育學校任教。他的作品編制為鋼琴二重奏、爵士六重奏、大樂隊和爵士樂團等，亦曾為台灣著名的歐開合唱團（Okai Singers）創作的無器樂伴奏阿卡貝拉合唱編曲。 Andy Jaffe之個人創作包括2015 年發行的作品「Arc」，由Wallace Roney, Jimmy Greene, Kris Allen, John Clark, Bruce Williamson, Jonathan Barber) 和擔任貝斯手的兒子馬蒂·賈菲(Marty Jaffe）、以及台灣的《Interestring Quartet》共同錄製，他最近期的一張唱片為「Chorinhoso」，於2020 年發行，由鼓手和打擊樂手（Rogério Boccato）、歌手（Martina DaSilva）和吉他手弗雷迪·布萊恩特（Freddie Bryant），收錄許多深受巴西影響的原創作品。 他 在1984 年的發行的專輯「Manhattan Projections」，由Branford Marsalis、Wallace Roney和Marvin “Smitty” Smith共同錄製，被稱為經典爵士樂唱片。

Andy Jaffe was born during when (Harry Truman) was president and grew up in New York and (Amherst, Mass), to become a jazz educator, pianist and composer. He is a famous teacher, having taught at Berklee, where his students included (Branford Marsalis, Wallace Roney, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Claire Daly, Scott Robinson, Frank Lacy, and Steve Vai), from 1977 to 1981. He recently retired from Williams College after founding and directing the Jazz program for 30 years, where his students included bassist/bandleader and composer (Chris Lightcap, Wang Leehom, and Kristen Anderson Lopez), and where he founded and directed the (Williamstown Jazz Festival) for 18 years.
He also taught at (Amherst College) where his students included (Darryl Harper), now music department chairman there, and bassist and bandleader (Stefan Crump). He has taught and led his own groups performing throughout Europe, including the (Toulon Jazz Festival) in France, the (Malta Jazz Festival), and performances in Eastern Europe, Germany and elsewhere), and has written numerous books and articles about jazz harmony and composition. He continues to teach in the graduate school in Music Composition at the (Vermont College of Fine Arts), as well as in Taipei at the MIT Music Program at the Taipei (Taiwan) Arts University (國立臺北藝術大學). He also taught at numerous other Universities in Taiwan and Beijing.
His compositions are written for ensembles ranging from Piano Duo to Jazz Sextet to big band and jazz orchestra, and include a cappella arrangements written for Taiwan’s (Okai Singers). His 2015 recording was called (“Arc”), and features (Wallace Roney, Jimmy Greene, Kris Allen, John Clark, Bruce Williamson, Jonathan Barber) and son (Marty Jaffe) on bass, as well as Taiwan’s (Interestring Quartet). His last recording, entitled “Chorinhoso” was released in 2020 and features (Rogério Boccato) on drums and percussion, vocalist (Martina DaSilva), and (Freddie Bryant) on guitar, and focuses on Brazilian influenced original compositions. His 1984 recording (“Manhattan Projections”) includes (Branford Marsalis, Wallace Roney) and (Marvin “Smitty” Smith) and is known as a classic jazz recording.
