ABOUT COLOMBIA
Colombia, located in South America, may not have snow, but it is still filled with Christmas cheer! This time, we’ll take you on a journey through two classic Colombian Christmas treats—Natillas (creamy milk pudding) and Buñuelos (fried sweet dough balls)—to experience the unique and warm festive spirit!

Natilla is a dessert originally from Spain, considered an essential dish on the Christmas table. Since the 1960s, it has become a traditional Christmas food in Colombia, typically enjoyed only in December. Many people say, "Natilla is best enjoyed in December."
The exact origin of the tradition of eating Natilla at Christmas is uncertain, but it is likely rooted in religious customs from European communities. During the Industrial Revolution, it is said that communities would share desserts (including Natilla) with those in need during the celebration of Jesus' birth. What is certain is that this dessert was brought to Colombia by the Spanish, where it evolved into its own unique recipe.

Buñuelo originates from Spain and is made of spherical fried dough. The dough can be mixed with water, milk, eggs, or yeast, and is a long-established Mediterranean dish, dating back to the 2nd century BC. For Colombians, buñuelo is not only a traditional snack filled with emotional memories, but also an essential dish during Christmas Eve dinner! It is typically enjoyed with Natilla, and together, these two treats are the most popular traditional desserts for Christmas in Colombia. Colombians often say, "Take a bite of Natilla, then a bite of Buñuelo—it's absolutely delicious!”

What’s the difference between “Hands-on Experience” and a “Professional Cooking Class”?
In our hands-on experience events, the focus is on “interacting with local people or instructors” and creating a warm atmosphere of “preparing the table together.”
It’s similar to preparing a dinner with locals in their homes, where each person has different tasks, but we “do not specifically emphasize learning cooking skills.”
This is different from a professional cooking class, which places more emphasis on teaching the techniques of cooking. If you are interested in learning how to cook international cuisine, we have other cooking classes available for you to choose from, or you can always contact us anytime!”

場地狀況說明 Venue condition
