2024年世界人權日專題講座 2024 Human Rights Day Lectures
國際歷史教育慈善與人權協會「紀念」（International Memorial）成立於1987年，為非營利組織，專注於研究蘇聯及現今俄羅斯的政治迫害，並促進對遭受政治迫害者的道德和法律復權，在2022年榮獲諾貝爾和平獎。近年，俄羅斯的政治環境變化，組織面臨政府當局的迫害及限制其活動和打壓，於2023年12月受俄羅斯普丁政府下令關閉。惟該組織仍然堅持其使命，繼續為受害者發聲並促進對迫害歷史的認識。
今年度的世界人權日，國家人權委員會與法國在台協會共同主辦專題講座，特別邀請到國際Memorial的兩位人權領域專家：Alexandra Polivanova女士(國際 Memorial 代表)和Nicolas Werth教授(法國Memorial兼國際Memorial主席)，難得的機會與大家分享極權體制下的歷史真相與人權運動。
“International Memorial” is a non-profit organization founded in 1987 to study political oppression in the Soviet Union and modern Russia and advocate for the ethical and legal rehabilitation of victims of political oppression. It was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. The changing Russian political environment in recent years saw the organization subjected to government persecution and restrictions on its activities. In December 2023, the Putin regime in Russia ordered its closure. Nevertheless, International Memorial continues to uphold its mission of speaking for the oppressed and raising awareness on the history of oppression.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the French Office In Taipei are co-hosting a series of lectures for the Human Rights Day this year and have invited two human rights experts from the International Memorial as speakers. Ms. Alexandra Polivanova (Memorial International Representative) and Dr. Nicolas Werth (Chairperson of Memorial-France and International Memorial) will use this rare opportunity to share the struggle for historical truth and human rights in authoritarian regimes with everyone.
