▍Introduction
The forum will delve into the development and trends of micromobility and how the city, as a service carrier, can face the current and foreseeable future of smart development. Through collaboration between technology and design, the city continuously strengthenes its urban resilience.
Session 1: The Future Vision of Micro Mobility in Taiwan
|Implementer:Stratergic Foresight R&D section
Through the workshop introducing Futures Thinking methods and tools, we engage industries and the public in exploring the history, current status and future scenario of urban transportation. This process encourages participants to reflect on their genuine needs and aspirations, paving the way for desirable micromobility applications in cities. Additionally, it raises public awareness of how Taiwan, as a naturally formed "15-minute city," can redefine unique modes of mobility, inspiring reflection on how Taiwan's cities might adapt to future changes and the opportunities and challenges they may face.
Session 2:Implementation and Continuation of Micro Mobility: Users, Infrastructure, and Lifestyles
|Speaker: Cindy Yunhsin Chou (Professor and Associate Vice President for International Affairs, College of Management, NTNU)
|speaker|Niels van Oort (Associate Professor for Public Transport and Shared Mobility, Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands)
|speaker|Chih-Chia Lin(Founder and General Manager of Looplus Service Technology Inc.)
|speaker|Chun-Chieh Fang(Founder and Director, Morpho Design)
Various forms of micro-mobility are central to the daily life and work of Dutch citizens, with infrastructure reflecting the public nature of urban mobility and shaping a unique cityscape.
Taiwan is at a pivotal moment for transportation transformation. This Micro-Mobility Industry Trends Forum will explore the characteristics of international micro-mobility users, share opportunities for integrating domestic hardware and software, and encourage industries to develop innovative services. The goal is to build a more sustainable transportation ecosystem and lay the foundation for innovative policy directions in Taiwan’s mobility transition.
Session 3:Future Urban Mobility Issues: Super-Aged Society, Sustainability, and Smart Cities
|speaker|Hideyuki Nakayama(Manager,Science and Technology Strategy Division)
|speaker|Stanley Chen(Vice President,Acer Gadget Inc.)
|speaker|Tzu-Chien Huang(Technical Director of R&D, Jochu Technology Co., Ltd.)
|speaker|Shou-Jye Chen(Senior Manager, LeGiun Technology Co., Ltd.)
During the pandemic, Western countries widely adopted micro-mobility solutions—such as bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters—to reduce interpersonal contact. This shift has profoundly impacted urban planning and policy, driving the growth of related micro-mobility services.
However, can this trend truly address current social challenges? By 2025, Taiwan will become a super-aged society, with one in five people being elderly. Are our cities prepared to support the needs of older adults? As we pursue green and sustainable mobility, how will the tech industry respond? Have local governments developed strategies to meet the growing mobility demands? These questions will be explored in-depth at the forum as we discuss the future of urban mobility.
