This talk invites the audience to explore the perfect fusion of art and functionality in architecture. IMO, an architectural and design firm based in both Barcelona and Taipei, focuses on creating extraordinary spatial experiences by weaving harmony, aesthetics, timelessness, honesty, and passion into every project.
We are honored to have Lain Satrustegui, a founding member of IMO, share his insights on how to fully integrate user needs and both human and non-human factors into design, blending them with Spain’s unique architectural aesthetics to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Through a series of carefully selected case studies, we will explore how the design concept of 'harmonious aesthetics' is interpreted and applied across diverse cultures and geographical contexts.

講師介紹｜
駐台西班牙建築師 伊萊恩 Lain Satrustegui
是一名駐台多年的西班牙建築師，也是獲頒許多獎項的常勝軍，擁有超過 10 年的經驗。擔任過講師、客座助理教授、建築設計獎評審委員，也是 IMO 建築暨設計事務所的創始成員。伊萊恩建築師受正統西班牙建築師教育，畢業於聖賽巴斯蒂安理工大學建築學院，並曾至「馬德里理工大學建築學院」及「丹麥皇家建築藝術學院」交換學生，依西班牙的建築師養成教育而取得西班牙建築師執照，更取得「特別優秀建築師」證書。在歐洲執業後，深入亞洲持續發展建築生涯。精通 4 種語言讓他能洞悉見察東西文化，其創作展現宏觀的全局視野。所致力於建築的熱忱都植基他的理想：啟蒙與實現人們的夢想，創造一個更美好的世界。
Lain Satrustegui is a Spanish architect who has been based in Taiwan for many years. He is a frequent recipient of numerous awards, with over 10 years of experience in the field. He has served as a lecturer, visiting assistant professor, and jury member for architectural design awards. He is also a founding member of IMO Architecture and Design Studio. Lain received formal architectural training in Spain, graduating from the School of Architecture at the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián. He also studied as an exchange student at the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Following Spain’s rigorous architectural education system, he earned his Spanish architect’s license and was awarded the 'Special Distinction Architect' certification. After practicing in Europe, he further pursued his architectural career in Asia.
Fluent in four languages, Lain is able to bridge Eastern and Western cultures with deep insight, and his work reflects a broad and comprehensive vision. His passion for architecture is rooted in his ideal: to inspire and realize people's dreams, and to create a better world.
