If the IT industry were a country, it would be the fourth largest polluter in the world, with carbon emissions comparable to the aviation industry! According to Google data, greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 increased by 48% compared to 2019, possibly due to the widespread adoption of AI. LTUX Taipei has invited Kirsten, Director of Yoshi Design Lab, B Corp consultant, and sustainable digital practitioner, to share her insights. Since 2022, she has been researching how to integrate sustainability into user experience design, interface design, and front-end and back-end implementation to reduce the carbon footprint of digital assets. Participants will learn sustainable digital design strategies, hear the speaker's experiences, and engage in sustainable user flowchart drawing exercises. This event is ideal for those looking to incorporate sustainability into their work and develop a sustainable career. [includes exercises]

Kirsten曾任職於數位廣告代理商及新創公司，是一位擁有策略、視覺、技術開發，10年以上經驗的數位設計師。在廣告代理商期間，為不計其數的知名品牌提供創意想法、視覺以及數位設計，其客戶有全球知名品牌，如：Kia, Samsung，到五月花、橘子工坊等等的台灣本土品牌。在新創公司時，與新加坡Facebook協作合作，開發廣告投遞平台並為其開發的數位服務找到市場差異性; 也曾服務於外商新創公司做數據分析平台。身為總是一打十的設計師，擅長用利用敏捷式開發，創造0-1的產品。
從 MA Sustainable Design,University of Brighton, UK 以一級(Distinction)成績畢業後，希望用創意策略結合科技，幫助那些可以「讓世界更好」的專案。 同時以發展 EdTech (教育創新) 數位平台為商業發想切入點，一路過關斬將，成功在英國拿下 Start-up Visa (新創簽證)，目前經營遊人設計，致力於使命型品牌塑造、綠色數位設計策略及永續濾鏡設計工作坊推廣，希望可培力數位相關從業人員實踐永續的能力。

Kirsten has worked in digital advertising agencies and startups and is a digital designer with over 10 years of experience in strategy, visual design, and technical development. While at advertising agencies, she provided creative ideas, visual designs, and digital solutions for countless well-known brands, including global names like Kia and Samsung, as well as local Taiwanese brands like Mayflower and Orange House. In startups, she collaborated with Facebook Singapore to develop an ad delivery platform and identify market differentiators for digital services; she also worked for a foreign startup on data analysis platforms. As a designer who excels in agile development, she specializes in creating products from 0 to 1.
After graduating with distinction from the MA Sustainable Design program at the University of Brighton, UK, she aims to use creative strategies combined with technology to help projects that can "make the world a better place." She developed a digital platform in EdTech (educational innovation) as a business concept and successfully obtained a Start-up Visa in the UK. Currently, she runs U-Design, focusing on mission-driven brand building, green digital design strategies, and promoting sustainable filter design workshops. Her goal is to empower digital professionals to practice sustainability.
