What's ZANSIN
"ZANSIN" is a competition-style workshop, also known as "MINI Hardening" in Japan and was called "KENRO DOJO" in HITCON CMT 2023, where participants compete to harden a vulnerable server provided by the organizers.
We have organized this event over 20 times in Japan and also held it at HITCON CMT 2019 and 2023.

In 2024, ZANSIN has talked at Black Hat Asia 2024 Arsenal and published our training platform on GitHub.
The environment of this event in HITCON also runs on the platform that we presented at Black Hat.

Your story begins...
“I could be a billionaire if I start an online game business!!”
A certain entrepreneur, who failed some businesses before, suddenly decided to launch new online game company.
It’s also the beginning of the toughest job for you, because you are the only security engineer in this company!!
Mission
In this event, participants act as operators of the vulnerable online game server and strive to harden and stabilize the system while defending against attacks from our Red Team.
If the game server is functioning properly, a crawler simulating game players will play the online game and occasionally make purchases. Participants compete for rankings based on the total amount of these purchases.
Furthermore, after the competition, Red Team members provide detailed explanations of the vulnerabilities of the server and the corresponding mitigation methods. Therefore, this event not only provides an enjoyable competition but also offers an opportunity to learn about server hardening in a comprehensive manner.
And we are preparing some gifts for TOP 3 participants!!
Important Notice
- You need to purchase a ticket for HITCON CMT 2024.
- Please bring your laptop that can connect to Wi-Fi.
- To access the competition environment, you need to be able to use SSH and RDP.
- If possible, please bring an extension cord for power.
