Welcome to our demanding trail category tailored for the dedicated trail runners seeking a substantial challenge amidst breathtaking landscapes. Designed for those who crave a significant elevation gain paired with a middle-distance run, this course mirrors the 20km category with an added twist. Embark on a double loop of the initial 11.5km circuit before venturing onto the 8km back loop leading to the finish line. Traverse Ergeshan not once, but twice during your journey, offering you the chance to witness both the stunning sunset and the magnificent nighttime views from this scenic peak. You need to be a regular trail runner to take on this challenging course with its strict cut-off times. It is an ITRA Level 1 rated trail, with a total elevation gain of close to 1900 meters. This category forms part of the UTMB 20K Index events and will contribute to every finisher's individual UTMB Index.

This is our challenging trail for the more experienced trail runner. This route takes participants over Ergeshan, one of the Little 100 Mountains of Taiwan. The peak offers magnificent night views of the Greater Taipei Area. The trail has many runnable sections, but also some challenging single trail climbing sections. The trail has a decent amount of elevation gain over a short distance and is very challenging for most runners. You definitely need ample trail running experience for this one. It is an ITRA Level 1 rated trail, with a total elevation gain over 1200 meters. This category forms part of the UTMB 20K Index events and will contribute to every finisher's individual UTMB Index.

This trail option is suitable for trail runners that like to take it much easier, but also give themselves some challenge. The route has many runnable single trails, but also tests each participant with some descent climbs towards the highest point of the trail at Ergeshan. The scenic night views over the Greater Taipei basin makes the climb all worthwhile. This trail has a total elevation gain of just over 700 meters.
這個環形路線非常適合社交型的跑者或是那些新手想嘗試夜間活動的人。總攀升高度為280米，這條路線會讓你體驗一些爬升。同時路線也有可跑的路段。
This circular route is ideal for social runners or those still new to trail running that would like to try out a night race. With a total elevation gain of 280m, this trail will give you some climb, but also some good runnable single trail sections.

For our hiking friends who would like to be part of the bigger event, this is for you! We have a circular hike option available that has some beautiful trails and scenic views from the ridgeline. This is also a good option for parents and their kids. All kids must be accompanied by their parents on this hiking trail.

All entries escalate in price as per the above table. Make sure to register on time in order to benefit from the lower entry fees. Pre-entries close at 12:00 noon on Wednesday September 11, 2024. Entries might also close earlier if we reach our manageable capacity for the event.

活動保險和參與者個人保險 Event Insurance and Participant Personal Insurance
作為主辦方，我們已經為活動購買了公共責任保險，但此保險僅對因主辦方的行動或決策導致的事故或傷害引起的索賠提供有限保障。
我們建議您在參加此活動之前購買個人意外保險或國內旅行保險，以涵蓋在活動期間可能因個人受傷而產生的任何個人意外費用，包括救護費、醫療費用或收入損失。
國際參與者應在抵達台灣之前購買此越野跑活動的旅行保險。
所有參與者都有責任確保他們理解自己的保險政策以及對於每種個人事件或傷害可以提出的索賠。

We as organizers have taken out Public Liability Insurance for the Event that has limited cover for claims based on accidents or injury caused by the actions or decisions of the organizer.
We do recommend that you arrange your own personal accidental insurance or domestic travel insurance before participating in this event to cover any personal accidental expenses that may arise due to personal injuries during the event, including ambulance fees, medical expenses, or lost of income.
International participants should purchase travel insurance for the this trail running event before arriving to Taiwan.
All participants are responsible to make sure they understand their insurance policies and the claims they are allowed to file for each type of personal incident or injury.
I agree that if I am injured or require medical assistance, the Event Organizer may, at my cost, arrange medical treatment and emergency evacuation as deemed necessary by the Event Organizer. Venture Treks does not have personal accident insurance for participants.
We recommend that you arrange your own personal accident insurance, ambulance cover and income protection insurance before participating in the Event to cover any unforeseen personal costs you may incur due to ambulance trips, medical expenses, or time off work due to injuries sustained whilst participating in the Event.
I agree that I am responsible for my own medical and ambulance insurance cover.
退款政策 Pre-Event Refund Policy

This is a Pre-Entry Event. Entries are limited, so we suggest you reserve your place today.
Pre-Entries close on Wednesday September 11th, 2024 at 12:00 noon, or at the Event Organizer’s discretion, when capacity has been reached.
Do not wait until the last minute to decide to sign-up, we often close the registrations before the registration deadline, as we regularly reach our manageable event capacity.
Full payment is required on entry. An entry is only confirmed on full payment of the entry fee.
Venture Treks has a cancellation policy pertaining to refunds. This is necessary because most of the expenses incurred in staging events are committed to in advance, and as such refunds are only possible well in advance. Refunds will be subject to a nominal administration and handling fee. Pre-event costs include supplies, race numbers, medals, medics, service providers, venue fees, staff and many other items that need to be in place for you to enjoy a safe and enjoyable event. Thank you!
60% of the entry fee paid will be refunded if an entry is canceled in writing on or before midnight on September 30th, 2024.
No refunds will be paid after September 30th, 2024.

賽事取消或延期政策 Race Cancellation or Postponement Policy
我們的目標始終是提供一個愉快與安全的比賽體驗。但是為了您的健康和安全，有時不尋常的情況(天氣和其他外力因素)可能讓我們被迫取消比賽。我們從來不想取消比賽，所以只有在安全風險很大的情況下才會取消。
因下列原因賽事主辦方保留取消、修改或取消越野賽的權利:
- 自然災害(或台灣中央氣象局發布的警告)。在這種情況下，不能更改賽道以繼續比賽，也不能推遲比賽日期。
- 由於發生地震、颶風/颱風、洪水、山體滑坡、事故、流行病，而無法確保跑步者的安全。賽事主辦方保留對賽事縮短或取消的最終決定權。
- 比賽是否取消的決定將在比賽前一天或比賽當天作出。這將通過官方比賽網站和官方社交媒體進行溝通。
在這種情況下，將不退還比賽報名費。每位參加者必須接受任何已繳付報名費的風險。收取的參賽費用將用於賽事的發展和相關前製作業，包括賽道準備、比賽用品、許可證和管理。我們將盡一切努力為所有參與者提供一個公平和安全的活動。我們做出的任何影響比賽日期或可能取消的決定都是經過仔細考慮的，並基於整個賽事的安全性、可持續性和可管理性。

Our goal is always to provide an enjoyable, safe race experience. However, sometimes unusual conditions (weather and other) may require that, for your health and safety, we cancel a race. We never want to cancel a race and will do so only if the safety risk is great.
The race organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify or call-off the trail race for the following reasons:
- Natural disasters (or declared warnings issued by the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau. In such a case, the race course cannot be changed to continue the race, nor will the race be postponed to a later date.
- The inability to ensure runners safety due to in the event of an earthquake, hurricane/typhoon, flood, landslides, incidents, accidents, epidemics and/or pandemics. The race organizer reserves the right to make judgments and decisions regarding the shortening/canceling of the race.
- The decision as to whether or not the race will be canceled will be made on the day before the race or on the day of the race. This will be communicated via the official race website and official social media.
In such cases there will be no refunds of race entry fees. Each participant must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. There is no complimentary race entry to a future race. Entry fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting well in advance of the race date – including course preparation, race supplies, permits and administration. We will make every effort to produce a fair and safe event for all participants. Any decision we make that impacts the race date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability and manageability.
In the event of the race being canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, we will attempt to reschedule to a later date in the same year and all entries will transfer to that rescheduled date. If this proves impossible the cancellation policy will apply.

參加 2024 MAOKONG NIGHT TRAIL 活動，我清楚明白將參與由VENTURE TREKS舉辦的戶外活動，將存在潛在危險，包括但不限於步行、遠足、背包旅行、游泳、劃獨木舟和露營。
By joining 2024 MAOKONG NIGHT TRAIL (“EVENT”), I acknowledge that I will be participating in outdoor activities that are potentially dangerous including but not limited to; walking, hiking, kayaking, backpacking, swimming, and camping organized by VENTURE TREKS.
參加這個活動完全出於自願與我的選擇，我同意承擔100%與為我自身行為負責。包括我在參加活動的前,中,後所有可預見與不可預見的事情。
My attendance at the EVENT, is strictly voluntary and of my own choice. I agree 100% to accept personal responsibility for all, and any foreseen and unforeseen events that may occur during, including to and from, the EVENT and its activities that I choose to participate in.

I understand that during my participation in the EVENT, I may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen or unforeseen, which are inherent in any and all outdoor adventure events, and cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of what outdoor adventure represents. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury, property damage, and death (“Injuries and Damages”) from exposure to the hazards of outdoor activities and travel to and from these activities.

VENTURE TREKS, its agents, affiliates, employees, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers, other participants, and any person or body, directly or indirectly associated with the EVENT take no responsibility for me and will not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the EVENT. Outdoor activities are inherently dangerous and accidents will happen and that risks of such Injuries and Damages are a part of the EVENT. I appreciate that I may have to exercise extra care for my own person and for others around me in the face of such hazards.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY, VENTURE TREKS, its agents, affiliates, employees, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers, and other participants from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence of VENTURE TREKS, its agents, affiliates, employees, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers, and other participants, in any way connected with the EVENT.
我進一步同意免責VENTURE TREKS，與其代理、子公司、員工、成員、贊助商、推廣者、志願者和其他參與者的任何索賠,損害,傷害或損失自己過失而造成的參與者在這次事件中,我理解和意願自我承擔假設的風險和放棄綁定在我的繼承人,執行人、管理人和受讓人，包括任何陪同我參加活動的未成年人。
I further agree to HOLD HARMLESS, VENTURE TREKS, its agents, affiliates, employees, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers, and other participants from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant in the EVENT, I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me on the EVENT.

This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. 7. 可能的設備故障和/或我自己或別人的設備故障。
8. 本人的疏忽和/或其他人的疏忽，包括員工、代理、獨立承包商或VENTURE TREKS的代表。
9. 寒冷天氣和與熱有關的傷害和疾病，包括但不限於凍傷、體溫過低、中暑、曬傷和脫水。

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS:
I understand that the EVENT involves many dangers, risks and hazards and I fully and in all legal and other respects assume and accept all those dangers, risks and hazards. I acknowledge that the VENTURE TREKS may fail to predict whether the terrain is safe for the EVENT or whether natural or human caused happenings or equipment failure will occur. The dangers, risks and hazards of the EVENT include but are not limited to:
1. Risk of injury from the activity and equipment utilized is significant, including the potential for permanent disability or death.
2. Falling, causing broken bones, severe injury to the head, neck and back which may result in severe impairment or even death.
3. An "act of nature", including but not limited to rock fall, inclement weather, thunder and lightning, severe or varied wind, temperature and other weather conditions.
4. Risks associated with crossing, climbing or down-climbing rock.
5. Risks associated with river crossings or wading.
6. Injury or death caused by creeks, rocks, boulders, forest, deadfall, trees, tree stumps, tree fall, uneven terrain, holes or depressions, bridges, fences, electrified fence, man-made structures including rustic tents, dining and wash tents that may collapse, impact or collision with other persons or objects, slips and falls.
7. Possible equipment failure and/or malfunction of my own or others' equipment.
8. My own negligence and/or the negligence of others, including employees, agents, independent contractors or representatives of VENTURE TREKS.
9. Cold weather and heat-related injuries and illness, including but not limited to frost bite, hypothermia, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, sunburn and dehydration.
10. Exposure to outdoor elements, including but not limited to inclement weather, thunder and lighting, severe and/or varied wind, temperature or weather conditions.
11. Injury or death caused by wild animals or insects.
12. Accidents or illness occurring in remote places where there are no available medical facilities and rescue may be distant and time-consuming at best.
13. Fatigue, chill and/or dizziness, which may diminish my/our reaction time and increase the risk of accident.
14. Terrain that may be unfamiliar, where runners/hikers may get lost, off route or be separated from the rest of the party or may not have received instructions or directions from VENTURE TREKS.
15. Limitations in my sense of balance, physical coordination, and ability to follow instructions.
16. Participation in this activity(s) may include possible exposure to and illness from COVID-19. While Company safety protocols and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness or even death does exist.

Throughout the event, photos and video footage are taken and may be used on the VENTURE TREKS social media channels and website as a way of sharing the content, and or to promote the VENTURE TREKS business.
I consent that VENTURE TREKS can use the photos/video footage taken of myself and in using my name, image, likeness and also my performance on their social media channels and website as a way of sharing content and or to promote their business.

Once successful payment is received on Accupass, a confirmation email is generated and emailed to the registered participant.
We use Accupass for registrations only, we don't require any participant to show us any paper tickets, e-tickets or QR tickets to gain access on the event day.
These functions are built-in automatically into the registration system, and isn't a requirement to attend our events.
