ABOUT / MYANMAR STREET WALKING TOUR

Huaxin Street, known as "Myanmar Street", is one of the biggest Burmese immigrant communities in Zhonghe, Taipei.

Step back in time to the 1960s when Myanmar experienced significant anti-Chinese events and economic reforms, leading to a wave of Burmese-Chinese immigrants seeking refuge in Taiwan. Over the years, this diverse community has flourished, creating a haven of Burmese culture amidst the bustling streets of Zhonghe in Taipei.

As you wander along Myanmar Street, you'll be captivated by the fusion of Chinese and Burmese influences evident in the vibrant signage and aroma-filled air. Picture yourself leisurely sipping on authentic Burmese milk tea under the shady arcades, immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of flavors and traditions that define Burmese cuisine.

Led by professional local guides, delve deeper into the heart of the largest Burmese community in Taiwan. We'll uncover the compelling stories of resilience and perseverance as Burmese immigrants carved out a new life in Taiwan. Monthly Walking Tour Info

✹ Date:  04/28 (sun.) , 05/26 (sun.), 06/22 (sat.), 07/13 (sat.)

✹ Time:  11:00 - 12:00

✹ Meeting Point | 三季 sanji teahouse (No. 22-1, Section 2, Xingnan Rd, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City)

✹ Fee: NT$590 per person. Discounted price for 2 pax: NT$550 per person.

(Includes: guide lecturer fee, itinerary assistant, personal audio guide, travel insurance, material fee, tax.)

✹Number of Participants: Suitable for 1 person or more to sign up.

Each session requires a minimum of ten participants to start. Confirmation of the tour will be made at least three days before the activity. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the organizer will contact participants via email three days before the activity to inform them of the cancellation and refund arrangements.

✹ Special Offer: A complimentary welcome drink - a must-have "Burmese Milk Tea".

ROUTE CONTENT

✹ Route:

Assembly@Sanji teahouse → Burmese Street Household-style Temple → Myanmar Steet Teashops and restaurants → Burmese Grocery Store

NOTES

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the activity. No refunds will be provided for no-shows or participants who arrive more than 20 minutes late.
  • Weather can be unpredictable. It is recommended to bring umbrellas or take necessary precautions against sunburn or cold weather and stay hydrated.
  • Three days before the activity, a pre-event notice will be sent out, reminding participants of the meeting time, location, and any other relevant information.
  • If the audio guide and headphones are damaged due to human factors during the tour, compensation will be required (NT$3000 per audio guide | NT$1000 per pair of headphones).
  • During the tour, our staff will be photographing, and the footage will be shared on the team's social media platforms. If you prefer not to be filmed, please inform the staff before the activity. The team will avoid filming you.

 

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

✹ Refunds will be processed according to Accupass ticketing rules. Refunds can be made up to 8 days before the event, with a 10% handling fee deducted. Refunds will not be accepted after this period. Tickets cannot be rescheduled. If you wish to join another session, please follow the above system acceptance time and request a refund and re-register via the Accupass system.
