葡萄牙人法蘭西斯可˙飛南第是國父孫中山先生的重要夥伴，他和國父在澳門一同創辦了《鏡海叢報》，這份週刊對革命意識的散布有著巨大的影響。1911年10月10日，滿清政府被推翻，中華民國政府成立，而就在前一年，也就是1910年的10月5日，葡萄牙人民也推翻了他們的舊王權，革命成功，建立了葡萄牙共和國。
那句美麗的錯誤「福爾摩沙」早已不能做為台灣和葡萄牙的橋樑；這兩個地方的人民，都在二十世紀前期的兩年內相繼開啟歷史新篇章，打破了千年以來的僵硬體制。
在古德斯先生的帶領下，聽眾將對葡萄牙產生更加深刻的認知，看見這個國家從歷史中淬煉而出的各種樣貌。
古德斯先生將與楊照老師展開一場跨時空的對談，引領我們回到1910年10月5日，窺探百年前葡萄牙人的生活。

Welcome to "Two Republics," a dual celebration within the festival "Bridging Cultures: An Artistic Convergence Between Taiwan and Portugal." These special events pay tribute to the rich history and cultural exchange between Portugal and Taiwan.
Opening of the Festival:
As we begin our journey into the cultural fusion of Taiwan and Portugal, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the historical significance of these days. This festival commemorates the Republics in Portugal and Taiwan, symbolizing the spirit of democracy and freedom. On October 5th, we celebrate the establishment of the Portuguese Republic in 1910, marking a monumental shift from monarchy to democracy. Then, on October 10th, we continue our cultural exploration by commemorating the implementation of the Republic in Taiwan in 1911. This date holds great significance as it symbolizes the resilience and determination of the Taiwanese people.

Special Presentation by Portuguese Historian - João Guedes:
To shed light on the historical context, we have invited a distinguished Portuguese historian, João Guedes. He will provide insights into the establishment of the Portuguese Republic and its historical significance. This presentation will give us a deeper understanding of this pivotal moment in Portuguese history. As the help provided from the Portuguese in Macau to Sun Yat-Sen.
Dialogue Between João Guedes and Yang Zhao:
Following João Guedes' presentation, we will have an engaging dialogue between these two experts in the field. João Guedes and Yang Zhao will discuss the historical events surrounding the two dates.
Chef Nelson Santos - Biography
Born in Lisbon in 1984, Chef Nelson Santos developed a passion for cooking from a young age, helping his mother, also a Chef, in the kitchen. In 2000, he earned his kitchen diploma from CPSA School.
He honed his skills in famous Portuguese restaurants like D' Bacalhau, Melhor Patanisca, Chef Julio, and luxury hotels. Chef Santos also worked in restaurants across Europe.
In 2015, he arrived in Taiwan as Head Chef of Tuga, where he fell in love with the country and met his future wife. Besides his culinary talents, Chef Santos enjoys motorcycles and scuba diving, embracing Taiwan's natural beauty.
These menus are carefully curated to showcase the diverse and authentic flavors of each culture.

Special Guests: Renowned Portuguese Historian João Guedes in Conversation with Writer Mr. Yang Zhao
Portuguese citizen Francisco Ferreira was an important partner of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China. Together, they co-founded the "Mirror of the Sea" weekly publication in Macau, which had a significant impact on the dissemination of revolutionary ideas. On October 10, 1911, the Qing Dynasty government was overthrown, and the Republic of China was established. Interestingly, just a year earlier, on October 5, 1910, the Portuguese people also overthrew their monarchy, achieving a successful revolution and establishing the Portuguese Republic.
The beautiful but mistaken term "Formosa" can no longer serve as a bridge between Taiwan and Portugal. The people of these two regions, within a span of two years in the early 20th century, embarked on new chapters in their histories, breaking free from centuries-old rigid systems.
Under the guidance of Mr. Guedes, the audience will gain a deeper understanding of Portugal and witness the various facets that have emerged from its history.
Mr. Guedes and Mr. Yang Zhao will engage in a transcendent conversation, leading us back to October 5, 1910, to glimpse into the lives of the Portuguese people a century ago.

Yang Zhao
A well-known writer who has held various positions such as Chief Editor of "Mingri Daily," adjunct lecturer at Taipei National University of the Arts, Editor-in-Chief of "New News Weekly," and host of the "Yidianzhaonews" program on UFO Radio. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Hyper Convergence Foundation. With a versatile background, he wields a sharp yet humorous writing style and conversation, skillfully hitting at the core of issues. His passion for literature, history, music, and cuisine allows one to sense the poetic and romantic charm in his words.
