Mixed methods research (MMR) is a rapidly growing methodology in social science, education, public health, and public affairs research. The purpose of this speech is to provide an overview of the emerging field of modern mixed-methods research while examining the types of research questions that can be answered by mixing quantitative and qualitative methods of inquiry.
