The use of metaphors in facilitating and group dialogue has been a long-time fascination with me. I find metaphoric images helpful in many ways including:
- Setting the tone of my own inner dialogue prior to taking on a job or group that I find challenging
- A way to dialogue collaboratively with the client on the design of the workshop
- Ways to think about a group discussion and the many needed stages
- Helping with the three elements of dialogue: equality, empathetic listening, and surfacing assumptions
Come and explore the use of nature metaphors in particular as a way to deepen inner and outer dialogue and sharpen your facilitation competency and passion.
Introduction of "The power of Dialogue- Conversations with Masters"
CP Yen Foundation's mission is "promote the art of dialogue, foster positive changes".
We believe, the basic ingredient for collaboration is dialogue- All solution starts with a conversation or dialogue (as Peter Senge/ Otto Scharmer said). The quality of dialogue will determine the quality of learning and decision.
How do we enhance the power of dialogue to help a group make better decisions? How can we learn together and support each other's successes and challenges as a community of dialogue practitioners? These questions are the reasons why the CP Yen Foundation is hosting a series of discussions called "The power of Dialogue-conversations with Masters".
