Everywhere we go, our shoes take us there. We have dress shoes, running shoes, climbing shoes, cycling shoes, dancing shoes - the list goes on. So much goes into shoe design and manufacturing, and yet so few of us have ever had to give it much thought. What is the importance of certain materials selection? What defines comfort? It is rare these days that a cobbler makes shoes to order, but that is part of the market. Another part involves designers entrusting their products to factories, entangling them in scaling, quality control, supply chains, and more. We'll talk to shoe designers at different levels and aspects of this industry about making shoes in Taiwan and selling shoes domestically and abroad.
