雲鑼 has been documented in China since the Tang Dynasty, but for myself, it has a much more recent history. In this talk, I will provide an introduction to 雲鑼, and my relationship with it. I will share when, where, and why my connection with 雲鑼 came to be, and how I have been working with composers to begin constructing new pieces for the instrument in efforts to include its sounds in contemporary music.
