When our office jobs or sedentary work lives don't feel satisfying, many of us have the occasional fantasy of escaping the routine, drudgery, office politics, and other yokes of the 9-5 by freelancing. In cases such as these, it never hurts to remind oneself that the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. Freelancing comes with its own stressors - uncertainty, time and project management, business development, irregular payment schedules, managing one's healthcare and taxes, etc. - and many who take the leap end up finding that freelancing actually isn't for them.
Join us for a discussion of the ups and downs of freelancing with a group of professionals who have undertaken it in various forms and for various periods of time.
