《天邊殺朵雲》 How to Kill a Cloud

芬蘭氣象科學家Hannele Korhonen醉心研究人工雨，受鉅額經費補助，她在乾旱地表上展開造雲降雨研究。然而，計畫逐漸變質，衍生出道德難題。導演貼身記錄這段在天秤兩側反覆掙扎的心路歷程，呈現科學研究背後，金錢、知識、權力、科技間複雜的政治角力，反思人類試圖操控大自然的狂妄心態。面對極端氣候與水資源問題，地球工程研究會是唯一解方嗎？

Scientist Hannele KORHONEN’s life changes dramatically when she is awarded a $1.5m research grant by the United Arab Emirates to participate in their project to stimulate rainfall over the notoriously arid region. The opportunity sounds amazing but gradually she discovers that the sponsors have their own agenda. Her enthusiasm thus morphs into an ethical dilemma.

《礦工人生》 Machini

特希姆 Tétshim、弗蘭克・穆肯迪 Frank MUKUNDAY｜剛果、比利時 Congo-Kinshasa, Belgium｜2019｜Colour｜10 min

熙來攘往的剛果城鎮，居民看似平凡的生活背後，有座巨大的工廠矗立山丘，無數勞工辛勤地在裡頭工作，但工廠對勞工與當地城鎮的回報，卻是一場無情的災難。兩位出身剛果的藝術家，使用手繪與停格動畫，並引用當代剛果作家穆吉拉的詩句，詩意呈現正在剛果當地上演，且不知何時結束的慘劇。

Through the force of machines, human beings have become godforsaken sleepwalking creatures in Machini. By applying chalk drawings, stones and repurposed materials, the stop-motion film reveals the influence that mining has on the city, showing the devastating pollution, and the appalling exploitation and destruction of man by man. 

《瑪希瑪不妥協》 Maxima

克勞蒂亞・史派羅 Claudia SPARROW｜美國 USA｜2019｜Colour ｜88min

美國礦業巨頭宣布收購土地，秘魯農民瑪希瑪的家園成為財團垂涎的大餅。金礦開採威脅到珍貴高山湖泊與飲用水源，地方警察與礦業公司更聯手騷擾居民，錯綜複雜的跨國政商關係，是當地許多原住民族遭遇的困境。然而，瑪希瑪不退縮，她勇敢地高聲吟唱：「我是來自高地的婦女，在薄霧與大雨中牧羊。我會繼續對抗，因為土地就是生命。」

Peruvian indigenous farmer Máxima ACUÑA fights to protect her land as she stands up to the largest gold producer in the world: US-based Newmont Mining Corporation. The film provides an illustrative study in the tactics used by transnational corporations to commit human rights violations and environmental crimes, and the role played by non-profits.

《總理的移動花園》 Taming the Garden

黑海沿岸，碩大無朋的百年老樹在海面上靜靜飄移。這是一位有權勢者離開官場後的驚世之舉——連根帶土掘起各地超過百年的樹種，送到自家莊園栽種。為了實現這匪夷所思的強人夢想，承包商日夜趕工鋪設新的道路，以便運樹車隊行進。莊嚴無語的大樹在海上緩緩移動，人們目送童年的記憶離去，超現實景象似乎幻化為父權壓迫的詭異象徵。

An ode to the rivalry between men and nature, Taming the Garden is the story of how a powerful man indulges in an unusual hobby by having century-old trees uprooted in communities along the Georgian coast and transplanted to his private garden.

《高談闊論》 The Forum

馬可斯・維特 Markus VETTER｜德國、瑞士 Germany, Switzerland｜2019｜Colour｜116min 

80 歲的史瓦布依然奮力工作，為他年輕時創立「世界經濟論壇」的初始理念奔走。原是為了向歐洲企業主分享更具社會責任的經營理念，沒想到隨著世界政經情勢演變，政治領袖紛紛運用這個本該維持中立的所在，處理正式國際場合難以解決的爭端，論壇遂逐漸成為寡頭菁英的場域。導演一方面對制度的幕前幕後進行翔實描述，一方面也帶領觀眾窺見，在近半世紀的發展後，史瓦布的倫理觀已難抵禦下個世代如浪潮襲來的各種危機。

Every year, the international elite gather at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland to talk privately about global issues. VETTER was the first filmmaker to be granted behind-the-scenes access. As the world stands at a crossroad, his film team documents the most powerful people on the planet making decisions that will affect us all.

《無畏世代》 Youth Unstoppable

斯蕾特・茱兒坎克 Slater JEWELL-KEMKER｜加拿大 Canada｜2019｜Colour｜ 86min

導演自 15 歲開始和父母參與環境運動，影片耗時 12 年拍攝、記錄，集結這段時間她參與各式街頭集會、政府主導之會議和媒體採訪的豐富素材，呈現氣候暖化對世界帶來的災難，以及政府治理在全球南、北方造成的不正義影響。全球暖化、氣候變遷的議題迫在眉睫，青年世代對此所展現的主體性，動人而又充滿希望。

JEWELL-KEMKER was fifteen when she began documenting the youth on the front lines of climate change. Over eleven years and set against stunning visuals of a planet in crisis, the film traces the evolution of a diverse network of youth rising up to shape the world they will live in.
