哈囉 各位Goldsmiths的校友們大家好!

我們是今年的校友會共同主辦人秋憶和嘉佑,很高興承接這次舉辦校友會的任務,後疫情時代的新生活,大家都過得好嗎?在這特別的時刻,我們更需要人與人的連結,在涼涼的秋日夜晚,再次回到熟悉的New Cross Gate,與老朋友、新朋友相聚,帶著輕鬆的心情,吃吃喝喝聊聊天,讓我們共享屬於New Cross Mate的美好時光~

當天舉辦地點也同時進行《生活與非生活》展覽,由校友秋憶創辦的南南之隅蒐集來自非洲部落的椅凳、面具與織品,共有33款物件以及一艘小船,邀請校友們一起前往逛展參觀。

關於《生活與非生活》展

對台灣來說,非洲是個遙遠的國度,除了物理距離外,心理距離可能更為遙遠。

在這片大陸當中有數百數千個部落民族,不同的生活方式,與特殊的儀式文化,像一片片不可或缺的拼圖,拼出完整而深厚的非洲。隨著不同部族生活而生的物件,有著粗曠樸實的風格、繽紛衝擊性的色彩,也傳入了鄰近的近代歐洲,逐漸成為家屋空間擺飾的風格元素。

不過除了風格飾品外,我們是否還能更多點體會這些物件背後的生活與意義?希望這次透過展覽穿越風格而連接到這些物件原初使用的脈絡,雖無法囊括這片大陸的所有面貌,或可作為體會非洲部族生活與儀式文化的起點。

Around the World in 7 Days is a volunteer-led series of gatherings for and by Goldsmiths alumni. After an unexpected break in 2020, this annual reunion series is back and better than ever: more open, flexible, accessible and literal – enabling you to meet alumni around the world from 25-31 October 2021. Wherever you are, you are invited to join fellow alumni (online or in-person) around the world in celebrating all things Goldsmiths.

What is the purpose of the series / event?

Around the World in 7 Days is an annual reunion series designed to give Goldsmiths alumni an opportunity to see each other and catch up with Goldsmiths, in the form of a volunteer-organised event. For more information, go to the Around the World pages.

 

Who are the volunteers / organisers?

Organisers of events are alumni, just like you, who have offered to organise and host an event as part of Around the World in 7 Days.

 

What is the format of this event / these events?

Some events are online only, others are in-person but livestreamed so that people from around the world can join, and a few are in-person only. Each event is clearly labelled on the registration page. Please see the event description for further details about this particular event.

 

What about time zones?

All event times stated on this page are local to the organiser.

When you receive the event reminder, as needed, it will include joining instructions, directions and contact information for the volunteer organiser.
