◆Eszter Kállay (Varsányi Szirének
◇Varsányi Szirének

◆Davor Mišković (Drugo more 總監)
◇Drugo more

About the Project
As the second phase of AVAT Art Exchange Online Forum, with the pandemic continued ravaging this year, the project is titled as ''Future scenarios for the Arts after pandemic''. We'll be focusing on impacts of pandemic on arts and society via panel discussions, with topics from community art practice, promotion of education on art and culture to residency.
Also, we'll look into how art orgianizations try to find a way out during the "new normal era" after the outbreak and through inviting representatives of art organizations at home and from abroad to share their "virus-coexisting" strategies.
Three discussions will be held from May to July. Prof. Su Yao-Hua will be the moderator, inviting operators of art organizations from different countries to the discussions. Discussions will be presented in mainly English. Only 30 audiences will be able to participate in full discussions and Q&A sessions. The ticket is limited, book now to avoid disappointment!

About the Panelists and Their Organizations
◆Eszter Kállay (Member of Varsányi Szirének)
Eszter Kállay is a poet, social worker and visual artist based in Budapest. Her main interests include artistic research, feminist activism and critical pedagogy: she currently works at an NGO with members of the refugee community in Budapest, using the tools of art education and art mediation for community building. In 2021, she will be a resident artist at the Artist-in-Garden Residence in Hellerau as part of a collaborative pedagogical workshop focusing on the interrelation of environmental and social constructions of gender.
◇Varsányi Szirének (Syrens from Varsány)
Varsányi Szirének (meaning Syrens from Varsány) is an international all-female amateur choir based in Budapest. In their times of depressive late capitalism, this collective practice compensates for more alienating, individualistic artistic practices that are now dominating the art world. Their principle is that everyone can sing and that singing together creates a community.
The pedagogical goal of their sessions is for participants to find a common ground in relation to a topic of their choice, thereby filling an abstract concept with meanings valid for them with the help of musical tools. During the sessions, cooperation and the skill of community creation gets great emphasis.

◆Davor Mišković (Director of Drugo more)
Davor Mišković is a sociologist by education, and his work is related to culture. He is engaged in research, cultural policies and artistic production. From 1997 to 2004, he worked in the Ministry of Culture as an advisor for international cultural cooperation. Since 2004, he has been director of arts organization The Other Sea. In The Other Sea, he conducted research, designed and led cultural programs (Art & Clubbing, Mine, yours, ours, Reflex), galleries (SIZ Gallery, DM Gallery), festivals (Mediterranean Games, Zoom), conferences, seminars and workshops. In addition, he worked with local governments to improve the cultural system through the development of strategic documents, coordinated the development of cultural strategies of Istria, Pula, Labin and Pazin. He lectured at the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka and the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka and Split.
◇Drugo more (The Other Sea)
Drugo more (The Other Sea) is an organization, a group of people working together. The boundaries of this group differ depending on the criteria we apply, and according to each criterion they are in constant motion, so they remain elusive even to Davor Miškovi, arguably the person most informed about Drugo more. Some of them are present in Drugo more with our whole being; others only temporarily, occasionally, with a smaller part of themselves. Some have stayed here for a very long time, others have passed through without looking back. But all those people influenced the organization’s determination at some point in time; their work, thoughts, and feelings shaped the Drugo more’s responses to its environment.
Drugo more has been active in the field of culture for 20 years. During that period, they discovered themes and authors, supported local art production, connected Croatia with the world, researched and shared experiences that contributed to the cultural development of Croatia.

◆Wu Dai-Rong (Curator of When a Home Becomes a Museum Art Project)
Wu Dai-Rong is currently an assistant professor in the Graduate Institute of Arts and Humanities Education at the Taipei National University of the Arts. Her research focuses on socially engaged art as pedagogy, and what/how knowledge is produced in this art-making/learning process. As an artist-teacher, Wu has launched the pedagogical art project, When A Home Becomes A Museum, at the Taipei Veterans’ Home since 2014. Through theorizing from practice, she builds up discourse on contemporary art education in the context of universities for the arts.
◇When a Home Becomes a Museum
Since 2016, Wu Dai-Rong and her students at the Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) have collaborated with the Taipei Veteran’s Home (TVH) in conceptually transforming the TVH into an ecomuseum through a pedagogical art project, When a Home Becomes a Museum.
When a Home Becomes a Museum evolved through artist journals, fieldwork and on-site interviews to continuously accumulate content and form narratives for the half-day exhibition of the same name. Subsequently, two programs—the TNUA X TVH Roundtable and the artist-teacher-in-residence programme—were added to the project in 2018 and 2019 to facilitate internal conversations within the TVH community and improve communication with an external, invitation-only audience. Due to Covid-19, the half-day exhibition was curated and executed at the TNUA as an off-site exhibition. This year, the exhibition and interactive activities were taking place online. This talk will share how pedagogical spaces can be created through various artistic practices within the project.
