Building a life in a new country is challenging to say the least. Throw in job hunting and the difficulty increases! Don't fret! The Gold Card Office has invited special guest speaker Alan McIvor, Practice Leader at Paul Wright Group, to share his experience and shed some light on navigating the job market in Taiwan.

About Alan McIvor
Alan McIvor is a Scottish headhunter based in Taipei with Paul Wright Group.
After finishing his Master Degree at the University of St Andrews, Alan McIvor decided to come to Asia to live. He instantly fell in love with Taiwan and its people, extending his stay for four years.
To further his career, he made the difficult decision in 2013 to relocate to Shanghai, a life-choice that ultimately paid off as he joined a fantastic recruitment company that allowed him to develop professionally in the fast-paced Chinese economy.
After a couple of years in Shanghai he decided to return to Taiwan to live, contacting the Office Manager of Robert Walters to ask about opportunities (after building a career in headhunting he knew how to be proactive in his job search!).
He was successfully hired and returned to Taipei at the start of 2015. In early 2017 he decided to make the switch over to Bo Le Associates, Asia's largest executive search firm.
In mid-2019 he joined Paul Wright Group as Practice Leader in Taipei. He is hoping to grow his professional network in Taipei and APAC and is working hard to become one of the top headhunters in the market. Jia you!
He focuses on the recruitment of mid to senior level professionals in functions such as marketing, sales, digital, strategy, PR, e-commerce and general management.
