We invited Lauren Lam to share about gamification and how you can use it to improve your foreign language skills.
A board game and language learning enthusiast, Lauren has worked with many gaming groups including his Dungeons and Dragons guild. He started knowing just Mandarin, until he got enrolled in an international school in Taiwan where he picked up English. It was there where he discovered gamification and how he can implement what he’s been doing this whole time with games to school which took him from being in the lowest level English class to scoring in the 94th percentile of AP English Literature exam takers. Now he is applying the same strategy to Japanese. Within three years, he was able to receive his N2 certificate and an offer to work at a Japanese language learning startup.
You will also have the opportunity to meet new people and practice your speaking skills playing board games!

這次的活動我們邀請到了Lauren Lam來分享一些熱門遊戲跟如何在玩遊戲的過程中提升你的外語能力。
Lauren是一位桌遊跟學習語言的愛好者，他曾經與眾多遊戲團隊合作其中包括「龍與地下城」。
起初只會中文的他，是唸了台外國際學校後才開始學習英文，也是在學校學習過程中，Lauren發現如何運用他對遊戲的愛好來提升自己的英文能力。同時，他在大學先修課程英文語文（AP English Literature)裡，從吊車尾衝刺到PR94的高分！
現在，Lauren用同樣的策略在學習日文，在短短三年裡，不僅拿到了日檢N2證書，也將在以學日文為主的新創公司就職。
