全球暖化使世界各地的氣候變化愈來愈極端，再生能源產業已成為必然的趨勢，其中台灣也無法置身事外。在經濟部能源局的太陽能長期規劃中，目標設定在2025年裝設 20GW 的太陽能容量，包括3GW 屋頂型與17 GW 地面型。根據TrendForce旗下綠能事業處EnergyTrend的研究，2018年台灣太陽能安裝量首次突破1GW大關，正式邁向了GW級市場，也吸引眾多外資來台設置，而能源局因此將 2019 年安裝目標量提高到1.5GW。
Increasing investments in the development of the renewable energy sector has become an irreversible trend as global warming causes more extreme weather events around the world. Instead of sitting on the sidelines of the international movement for energy transition, Taiwan’s government has opted to aggressively push the deployment of renewable energies. The long-term solar strategy formulated by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs aims to increase island’s cumulative installed capacity for solar PV to 20GW by 2025. Out of that total, 17GW has been earmarked for ground-mounted PV power plants, while the remaining 3GW has been allotted to rooftop PV installations. The latest study by EnergyTrend, the green energy division of the global research firm TrendForce, states that Taiwan’s solar market surpassed the GW scale in 2018 with annual installations rising above 1GW for the first time. The rapid growth has also attracted an influx of foreign investments, and the government, in turn, has further raised its annual installation target for 2019 to 1.5GW.
