English is required in high school, but four skills, speaking, reading, listening and writing, are taught unproportionately because college entrance exam does not take listening and speaking into account. The circumstance causes a dilemma for teachers. On one hand, most of the high school students long for fluent or even perfect speaking skills. On the other, teachers should the responsibility for preparing students for the future challenge. But in reality, teachers have no choice since they are overwhelmed by meeting the college entrance exam's requirement.
The lecture aims to provide teachers with technological tools via which they are able to build a customized chat robot. It can be integrated to LINE, Facebook, Google Assistanct and many other platforms. It helps students practice speaking, learn colloquial expression and acts like a real person. Teachers can design their own oral questions for students to practice.
Programming skills are not required for the lecture. The lecturer will build up English teachers' knowledge about technology step by step. Participants should only equip themselves with the braveness and courage to embrace innovative things.
