近20年來的同志公民權進展激起了台灣史上最大的反同運動。其以幸福、護家為名，極力阻擋、拖延、污名化婚姻平權與同志教育進程，甚或意圖反轉現狀。
06/22邀請到高穎超博士帶領我們，一同自田野與文本資料中，分析四種「跨國/性宗教網絡」如何協助反同運動建立論述與組織，擴充「全球基督教」文獻中忽略的宗教與性制(sexualities)交織面向。

講師簡介：
高穎超為美國維吉尼亞聯邦大學社會學系助理教授，研究領域包含：性別與性制（gender and sexualities）、社會不平等、宗教、全球與跨國社會學。穎超正在撰寫他的第一本專書，主要聚焦於台灣護家反同運動與婚姻平權、性別平等教育政策的辯證互動，分析其動機、組織及跨國網絡。穎超其他的研究案則使用跨國量化資料探討宗教如何影響性態度，以及蒙受污名的性實踐社群如何建構新的性制正當性。
高穎超的研究成果發表於期刊Contexts與Sexuality Research in China。他的陽剛氣質研究發表於合輯East Asian Men: Masculinity, Sexuality and Desire (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016) 和Masculinities in a Global Era (Springer, 2013)（與畢恒達合著）。他翻譯的性社會學經典《茶室交易》（群學出版，2016），榮獲2017年台北國際書展編輯獎。其他研究見於《質／性別研究》及《以身為度、如是我做：田野工作的教與學》。另有公共社會學評論刊於《性別平等教育季刊》、《巷仔口社會學》、《上報》、《端傳媒》、《蘋果日報》、《關鍵評論網》和Taipei Times等。
Bio
Ying-Chao Kao, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his PhD in Sociology from Rutgers University in 2018. Professor Kao’s research interests include sexualities, masculinities, global religions, and inequalities. His current research tracks the global flows of Christian conservative activism, exploring how Taiwanese and American pro-family organizations have shaped and mobilized the global structures to oppose the sexual citizenship of the tongzhi (LGBTQI+) people. The ongoing globalized oppositional moral movements against marriage equality and “tongzhi education” are particularly examined in the contexts of neo-liberalism, geopolitics, and hetero-hegemony. Bridging the sociological research on religion, sexualities, and transnationalism, Kao’s analysis relates sexual politics and the resurgence of global Christianity to reveal the transnational networks of social conservatism and critically examine the changes in global inequalities.
Professor Kao has published his work in the journals Contexts, Sexuality Research in China, and Gender Equity Education Quarterly (in Chinese). His research on military masculinity was published in East Asian Men: Masculinity, Sexuality, and Desire (Palgrave, 2017) and Masculinities in a Global Era (Springer, 2013 and co-authored with H-D Bih). His traditional Chinese translation of Laud Humphreys’ Tearoom Trade: Impersonal Sex in Public Places (Socio, 2016) won the Editorship Award at the Taipei International Book Exhibition in 2017.
