縱觀全球數位醫療，波士頓絕對是首屈一指的數位醫療新創重鎮。金融海嘯後，波士頓在短短幾年重整、創造出充滿能量的新創文化，且孕育出4家醫療科技/生物科技獨角獸（市值合計超過140億美元）。
在這創新文化後一個非常重要的推手就是——MassChallenge（MC），MC現在已是世界前五的頂尖新創加速器。MC串連了麻州政府的支持，連結波士頓頂尖研究機構（包含Harvard、MIT）的研究能量，創造出與矽谷並駕齊驅的創新文化，並成功翻轉麻州的經濟！
這次，比翼加速器非常榮幸邀請到MassChallenge的Hank從美國飛來臺灣分享他在波士頓新創圈的第一手經驗與洞見。Hank在數位醫療領域擁有豐富經驗：曾在財星500大生技公司主導數位策略與創新、創立醫療科技公司從天使輪到被收購、也擔任MIT史隆商學院的MIT Hacking Medicine擔任策略諮詢業師。與談人包含AI醫療大未來的作者、美國醫學資訊學院院士——台灣醫療AI權威李友專院長，以及哈佛醫學院與麻省總醫院研究員、目前在數位經濟發展協會（DTA）的黃玉華博士。三人將就波士頓的數位醫療新創文化，頂尖加速器MassChallenge扮演的角色，以及數位醫療的未來趨勢做討論。千萬別次過這次充滿洞見的醫療科技趨勢論壇！ (本場免費活動將以英文進行）

Speaking of digital health, Boston is definitely the premier city that comes to mind. After the 2008 Financial Crisis, Boston reorganized in just a few years and created an energetic startup culture. Boston have given birth to four medical technology/biotech unicorns (total value over $14 billion). A very critical driver behind this innovative culture is MassChallenge (MC), which is now the top five startup accelerator in the world. MC has connected the support of the Massachusetts government, linking the research energy of Boston's top research institutions (including Harvard, MIT). And, the innovative startup culture tremendously boosted the economy of Massachusetts!
This time, the BE Accelerator is honored to invite Hank from MassChallenge to come to Taiwan and share his first experience and insights in Boston's innovation community. Hank has extensive experience in digital health: he has led digital strategy and innovation at Fortune 500 Biotech, founded the medical technology company from angel fund to being acquired, and also served as a mentor at MIT Hacking Medicine.
Other panelists include Dr. Jack Li and Dr. Samantha Huang. Dr. Jack Li, the author of “Taiwan’s Future on Medical AI,” is an authority in medical AI. Also, Dr. Li is a fellow fo American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI). Dr. Samantha Huang was a former researcher of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Currently, Dr. Huang serves in the Digital Transformation Association (DTA). Three panelists will discuss Boston's digital medical innovation culture, the role of the MassChallenge, and the future of digital healthcare. Don't miss this insightful digital health panel! 李友專 臺北醫學大學醫學科技學院院長
Dr. Jack Li
Dean of the School of Medical Science and Technology, Taipei Medical University

李友專教授是亞洲醫療人工智慧的權威，擔任亞太醫學資訊學會(APAMI)主席，同時也是美國醫學資訊學院(ACMI)院士。李友專教授在醫療資訊領域有著非常深入的研究，對於醫療人工智慧、醫療大數據分析、醫務決策系統等主題皆有豐碩的研究成果，而《台灣醫療AI大未來》一書正是李教授其研究與洞見的結晶。李友專教授目前擔任北醫科技學院院長、人工智慧醫療研究中心副主任及醫學資訊研究所所長，李教授畢業於臺北醫學大學醫學系，並於猶他大學取得醫療資訊博士。

Dr. Jack Li is an authority of medical artificial intelligence. He is the chairman of the Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI) and a member of the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI). Dr. Li You has a very in-depth research in the field of medical information. He has rich research results on topics such as medical artificial intelligence, medical big data analysis, and medical decision-making systems. And, the book "Taiwan’s Future on Medical AI" is Dr. Li.’s result of his research and his insights in Medical AI. Dr. Li is currently the Dean of the School of Medical Science and Technology at Taipei Medical University, the Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence for Medicine and Health Innovation Center and the Director of the Institute of Medical Information. Dr. Li graduated from the Medical Faculty of Taipei Medical University and obtained a Ph.D. in Medical Information from the University of Utah.

Hank Wu

Hank Wu advises and mentors digital health startups, accelerators and VCs in the Boston innovation community. His goal as computer scientist, biotechnologist and entrepreneur is to improve the lives of one billion people.

Most recently, Hank served as digital executive at a Flagship Venture Labs and Google-backed biotech startup that rocketed through Series B, C and IPO. Prior to that, he led digital strategy and innovation at a Fortune 500 biopharma where he developed novel biomarkers using computer vision, machine learning and wearables; created the talent development program for data science and digital health tech; and put the company on the map as thought leader at Bio-IT World and AWS:reInvent. Hank's track record of breaking new ground includes technology platforms at the J. Craig Venter Institute, public-private partnerships at the US National Lab for Cancer Research, and growing his first digital health startup from angel to acquisition.

Hank got his left brain in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, his right brain in biotech MS/MBA from the Johns Hopkins University and his hindbrain from MIT Sloan.

黃玉華 數位經濟發展協會DTA
Dr. Samantha Huang

黃玉華博士目前任職於臺灣數位經濟發展協會（DTA）。黃博士經驗豐富且多元，在波士頓醫學院取得認知神經科學博士後，擔任美國麻省總醫院與哈佛醫學院的研究員。在波士頓時也曾加入新創公司，在當時也幫助資策會跟全球頂尖創業加速器Masschallenge簽署合作備忘錄。回到台灣也在資策會與財團法人生物技術開發中心（DCB）扮演重要角色。幫助DCB推出數位健康（Digital Health）創業加速器計畫，與電子產業和國際資金合作，幫助台灣生技新創加速發展，進軍世界舞台。DCB的數位健康創業加速器，結合臺灣強大的醫學實力以及最擅長的電子產業與眾多最尖端的科技，例如人工智慧、數據科學，區塊鏈和數位光電等領域，共同開創一片新藍海。

Dr. Samantha Huang currently works for the Taiwan Digital Transformation Association (DTA). Dr. Huang is a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience at Boston Medical School and a former researcher at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Huang has joined a startup in Boston, and at the time helped Taiwan Institute for Information Industry to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the world's top startup accelerator Masschallenge. After returning to Taiwan Dr. Huang also plays an important role in Institute for Information Industry and Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB). She helped DCB launch Digital Health's Entrepreneur Accelerator program, cooperate with the electronics industry and international funds to help Taiwan's biotech innovation accelerate development. DCB's Digital Health Entrepreneur Accelerator combines Taiwan's strong medical strength with the best electronics industry and many cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data science, blockchain and digital optoelectronics, to create a new blue ocean.
