臺北機廠是我國現存最具悠久歷史且規模完整的鐵路車輛修理工廠，歷經蒸汽火車、柴電機車、電力機車火車維修史，宛如一部台灣鐵路發展史。臺北機廠第一線的技術人員，成全了許多人一路平安的旅遊夢、冒險夢、回家夢。拼火車、拼生活，拼出一個個故事和想望。現在，拼出一個博物館。臺北機廠修火車的任務功成身退。國家鐵道博物館探尋歷史現場、再現昔時榮光的使命正要登場。
The Taipei Railway Workshop is the machinery buidings in Taiwan that can be dynamically preserved,after the steam train,diesel-electric trains,electric trains train maintenance history,The history of TRW is a key role in the story of railway development in Taiwan.The front line staff of TRW fulfilled the dreams of countless fellow countrymen –safe travels, adventurous travels, and proud returns home. Trains assembled, new lives assembled, dream upon dream assembled in the creation of life stories. And from this, a new museum is now assembled.Taipei Railway Workshop had retired from its duties of repairing trains.
