Drawing Game: Let’s Make A Hero
by Chris Romeo
In role-playing games, before actually playing and meeting other players, you can spend hours creating a character. Then, once you make the character you hardly talk about your design choices, instead the guest begins. I want to subvert this by making a drawing game in which a group of people make and share characters through different activities. There is no game afterwards, the creation of the character becomes the games.
For the workshop, I would like to print and print and prepare booklets for the participants to fill out and draw in together. We will do different actions to create drawings: “exquisite corpses”,”rolling dice” and freestyle.

Chris Romero

A graduate of New York University's Museum Studies program - Chris Romero combines research and artistic activities to create paintings, zines, public happenings, and media art. His work is informed by everyday hopes and anxieties found in a technologically saturated world. He is especially interested in digital culture, videogames, and illustration. His works are often irreverent and humorous, crossing genres and disrupting the rigid notions of what art is or can be. He is especially interested in working with emerging artists, producing unusual and unconventional projects, and cultivating cross-cultural and geographic exchange.
