SPEAKER: Michelle E. Messina, CEO of Explora International LLC and co-author of the best-selling book Decoding Silicon Valley: The Insider’s Guide.

Growing a startup is not getting easier; in fact, it’s more challenging than ever to be successful! Or should we focus in building one at all? Mr. Sun is a Vice President based in the Taipei office and has over 14 years of investment and industry experiences across semi-conductor, mobile platform, telecom and varies projects from enterprise IT consulting to city-wise new technologies deployment. He focuses on the investment in Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) among US and Asia.

Alec Liu
Alec founded Miézo Inc. in 2012, served as CEO. Miézo is a fabless company that develops and provides the electronics products embedded in the furniture to accomplish the smart furniture. In 2013, Alec founded Simtrans Technology Ltd. that develops the ultrasonic transceiver in the robots and automotives. In 2016, Alec founded Armpro Co, Ltd. that develops and manufactures the deep-learning based visual inspection equipment for industrial use. During the start-up period, Alec obtained Business Startup Award by Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taipei Highlights Enterprise Award, and Young Research Creative Award by Pan Wen Yuan Foundation. He is good at vibration control, acoustics, power electronics, piezoelectric transducers, cross-industry integration and business development.
Alec was graduated from Dept. of mechanical engineering, National Taiwan University, and received his joint Ph. D. degree in engineering science and ocean engineering from National Taiwan University and in electrical engineering from ENS Cachan (France). Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he was a researcher/engineer, and implemented a variety of research subjects and commercial products such as satellite vibration control system, automotive parking sensor, LCDTV backlight inverter, satellite power supply, ultrasonic gesture touch, turnkey solution of surge protection, autonomous flapping-wing micro air vehicle and ultra flat speaker, etc.

Huann-Shiuh Shy, Project Manager of Communications Industry Developent Program Office.
Mr. Shy was born in Taiwan and was educated at National Tsing Hua University, where he received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
He currently served as Project Manager of Communications Industry Developent Program Office
Over the 29 years of his career at Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Mr. Shy has served as an engineer (1988-1995), senior engineer and deputy manager (1995-2000), manager (2000-2002), deputy director (2002-2006), and principal administrator (2006-present) at Information and Communications Research Laboratories (ICL).
In addition, Mr. Shy previously served as the deputy CEO of Invest Taiwan Service Center, Executive Yuan (Taiwan Prime Minister's office)providing customized services to investors and interfacing with other branches of the government on behalf of the clients. He also actively served as a mentor and a judge at Talentrepreneur Innovation Collaboration 100 (TiC100) in the past 10 years.
Mr. Shy specializes in technology transfer, intellectual property (IP) promotion, negotiation, international cooperation and strategic communication.
施經理在新創輔導在台灣投入超過十年，從Tic100/Global Tic/Mobile Hero等計畫，一起陪伴及培育了超過了上百個新創團隊。目前在中央「 經濟部工業局網通產業推動辦公室」專案辦公室擔任經理一職，也持續的扶持在台灣知名硬體團隊「Alechma」(釀酒群募團隊 - 從0~10階段）
從1988年完成清華大學電機系和電機所碩士學位後，開始服國防役，進入當時的工研院電子所，到2018就滿三十年。主要從事通訊技術授權的工作，從課長、副理到通訊技術推廣部經理擔任通訊產業推動小組副執行秘書，協助工業局進行台灣通訊產業有關投資、技術(智財權）、生產和市場等四項的國內和國外的雙向媒合工作。還奉派至行政院全球招商聯合服務中心擔任副執行長，帶領三十多位中心同仁負責排除外商來台的投資障礙(包括土地、水、電、瓦斯 、商機媒合等）再其次開始從事新創育成，以通訊大賽為基礎，協助新創團隊由作品變成產品甚至商品，並積極參與各項創業活動。
從十五年前台灣最早的創業比賽研華基金會 TiC 100擔任業師開始參加創業活動，積極參與工研院天使俱樂部Tech Venture Club)活動,每季平均輔導十二個團隊，針對商業模式、技術媒合、簡報技巧給予建議針對通訊大賽得奬隊伍個別給予量身訂作的創業輔導，希望他們很快可以有作品變產品甚至變為商品，已輔導Alchema釀酒團隊上Kickstarter成功募集約35萬美元，Kichbot在嘖嘖平台募集4百萬新臺幣。
擔任教育部全國科技大學創業大賽評審總召集人，說服研華贊助TiC100創業A+計畫進行新創團隊定向育成，已經成功孕ˋ數十個團隊進行物聯網的全球行銷活動。
