本次主題簡介
「滬尾偕醫館」
位於新北市淡水區馬偕街6號的「滬尾偕醫館」，是由馬偕牧師所設計的閩式建築，落成於1879年9月14日。醫館是北台灣歷史上第一間西式醫院，馬偕牧師引進西方的醫學病例報告與初複診制度，設置有手術台，候診時也提供民眾衛生保健教育，成為台灣現代醫學資源的重要發源根基，還曾發表全球首宗「肺蛭蟲」醫學研究報告。醫館不僅因醫療工作而享有聲譽，1884年清法戰爭戰火延燒至淡水地區時，更因為馬偕與學生在醫館內全力協助搶救受傷清兵，在戰後獲得劉銘傳頒發軍功與表揚，使得官方與民眾對馬偕在滬尾的貢獻更加認同和肯定。1912年時醫館搬移至台北新建院舍（今日馬偕紀念醫院），醫館的空間曾轉作為教會書房、神學院、診所、學生宿舍、幼兒園等用途，維持原貌到現在，同時保存了洗濯台、壁爐、門鐘，及馬偕的風琴、藥罐等歷史文物。目前已成為新北市市定古蹟，並作為文創咖啡館。（資料來源：綜合網路歷史資訊）

the subject of the workshop,
" The Hube
Mackay Hospital"
Located at No. 6 Mackay St., Tamsui District, New Taipei City, “The Hobe MacKay Hospital” was designed by Rev. Dr. George Leslie Mackay, and completed in September 1879. It was the first Western-style hospital in Northern Formosa and helped Mackay introduce Western systems of medical reports, records, and initial and follow-up consultations to Taiwan.
The hospital also had an operating table and offered public health education to waiting patients, making this one of the birthplaces of modern Taiwanese medicine. It was famous for reporting the world’s first case of “lung fluke”. Because the hospital worked hard to save injured soldiers during the 1884 Sino-French war, the authorities and local people gave Mackay their respect and support for his contributions to Taiwan.
In 1912, the hospital moved to a new building in Taipei (Mackay Memorial Hospital today). The Hobe building was transformed into a space for religious study, clinics, student dormitories, a kindergarten and other functions. But its original appearance has been maintained. The washstand, fireplaces, door bells, Mackay's own pipe organ, medicine jars and other historical artifacts have all been preserved. Today, Hobe Mackay Hospital is an historic listed building and an artistic cafe.
