基隆，在你的記憶裡是什麼樣的風景？
當身旁的風景已成了習慣，你是否忽略了空氣裡的鹽，以及海面上的光？

〈 顯影山海 〉來自光和鹽的激盪，當光照射在底片上，使鹵化銀與附近的結晶成塊，「顯影」能使鹵化銀還原成黑色的銀，讓隱藏在底片上的圖像顯現出來。這樣藉由光照、團結、隱藏，最終顯現的過程，正好能將那些人們平時視而不見，但卻轉瞬即逝的基隆印象，彷彿羅蘭・巴特在著作《 明室 》裡提到的概念「此曾在」（ça-a-été），一一顯現出來；即使未能親身經歷，那些曾經存在彼處、此刻已然缺席的風景，都能宛如延遲的星光灑進我們眼裡。

無論你是否曾在基隆生活過，請讓底片化為一趟合身的旅行，在未經剪裁的天空下，一同漫步在海堤、漁港，看看長堤上的人們與他們的背影，再望向空中，看看翻飛的風箏和凝固的雲，然後視線逐漸拉遠，看看海水之外，深邃而沒有邊際的遠方。

透過 14 幅來自基隆的影像，一起重新找回基隆獨有的色調，那是屬於基隆的記憶，也是如肌膚般親暱相伴、卻足以撞擊靈魂的平凡日常。

▨ 關於郭倍倍

本名郭倍宏，高雄人，喜愛底片攝影，在基隆讀書六年期間培養了對攝影的熱情，並對基隆有著深厚情感。

▨ The Exhibition

KEELUNG: what mental images come into your memory?
Do we get so accustomed to its everyday scenery as to forget about the smell of its salty air, the light on the shimmering sea? 

“Mountains and Sea: Keelung’s Latent Images” aims to explore the intercourse between light and salt, when the silver halide crystals coated on films are exposed to light and restored to clusters of metallic silver , thus developing a “latent image”. This almost magical process through exposure, absorption, clustering and developing makes explicit while evoking exactly the once-presence — Barthes’ “ça-a-été”— of our often neglected and fleeting impressions of Keelung. 

Whether you have lived in Keelung or not, let the films take you on a journey: under an untrimmed sky, a promenade around the port and then along the levee, watching the backs of people vanishing; to gaze upon the flying kites and the frozen clouds in the sky, and, further down, beyond the waters in the distance, into that boundless deep of nowhere.

Through 14 portraits of Keelung, together we invite you to rediscover the particular tones and colors of Keelung: at the same time the unique memories we shared with it, and the presence of its everyday reality as intimate as on our skins, as deep as into our souls.

▨ The Photographer

PEI-HUNG KUO, an up-and-coming photographer, was born and raised in Kaohsiung.
He spends six years of his life studying in Keelung where he developed a passion for film photography.
