那是個什麼樣的時代，會讓人一再回味？1920為日治時代的中期，也是大稻埕最風光的時代，由永樂町、太平町、港町所劃分出的大稻埕市街，是臺灣最繁榮熱鬧的區域，不但百貨商行林立、數十家戲院齊聚，各種歌舞戲劇輪番上演，她還是臺灣新文化運動的中心。

大稻埕國際藝術節邀請不曾經歷那個時代的你我作伙來扮裝，穿上旗袍、西裝或和服，帶上大甲草帽和陽傘，走過當年繁榮的大街小巷及歷史街區，再次瞭解我們所生長的這塊土地，傳承那些動人的故事。

今年的10月14日，跟著我們踏入時空隧道，沿著迪化街走向化身為「時空劇場」的永樂廣場。擦鞋匠、算命仙甚至是江湖郎中穿梭在人群當中，一旁還有挑著扁擔的小販在叫賣著，讓你感受1920年代市集熱鬧氛圍。除了「時空攤販」，還有「好物市集」為你的老靈魂販賣著舊日時光的美好。

讓我們一起跳進風華年代的大稻埕，重現那段自由奔放、充滿活力的熱鬧歲月！

The Roaring Twenties did not only “roar” in the West. For Tua-Tiu-Tiann, the 1920s were also a time of prosperity. Taiwan was under Japanese rule, and Tua-Tiu-Tiann’s major streets – called Eirakucho, Taiheicho, Minatocho – were among the island’s most bustling and flourishing areas. Visitors came to shop at the top department stores and watch a performance at one of the many dozens of theaters concentrated in the area. Musicians and actors representing all genres and styles flocked here to entertain crowds hungry for something new. Tua-Tiu-Tiann was the center of cosmopolitanism and a new cultural movement in Taiwan.

TTIFA cordially invites all to relive the “roar” of vintage Tua-Tiu-Tiann with our 1920s Costume Parade. We encourage all participants to dress in a qipao, a suit, or kimono, or whatever garb from the era. Don a straw hat and tote a parasol, if you like, as we walk the streets and alleys to learn about the place that nurtured a cultural renaissance in Taiwan, and recount stories that continue to inspire us today.

The parade takes place on October 14 ^th and concludes at the “Time Machine Theater” at the outdoor plaza in front of Yongle Market. There visitors and passersby will be greeted by fortune tellers, shoe shiners and perhaps a few medicine show quacks, while vendors carrying their goods on bamboo poles will transport us back to the street markets of the 1920s.

迪化街十連棟 Dihua Shilian Building

迪化街 1 段尾新景點「十連棟」，共 10 棟巴洛克式建築二樓百年房屋，是迪化街唯一集體改建基地面積最大的建築案。

從台北橋到歸綏街，早期是雜貨大批發及米行，目前則是老行業的集中地，目前可看見的老行業如：米店、竹器店、金紙店、油行、農具店......等。而建築外觀上，則多保留清代閩南式店面，以及紅磚拱廊的洋樓，十分古樸。繼續往南走，遊行隊伍會來到迪化街最繁榮的區域。從歸綏街到永樂廣場，行經台北霞海城隍廟、屈臣氏大藥房及許多傳統中藥南北貨、創新產業店家，百年前迪化街南街已是台灣商業貿易最繁榮的市街。郭雪湖的「南街殷賑」畫作中便以臺北迪化街霞海城隍廟口熱鬧的節慶及南街商家比鄰的景觀為主題，可見迪化街1920年代的繁華景象。

From Taipei Bridge to Guisui Street it was mainly hardware wholesales and rice stores, where the traditional industry gathered. There are stores that sell rice, bamboo containers, joss money, cooking oil, and farming products. The building in North Street kept the Qing dynayst style as well as the colonial building with red brick foyers. Next, the parade will go from Guisui Street to Yongle Plaza passing by Taipei City God Temple, AS Watson Building, Chinese herbal medicine shops, and new creative startups. The painting Festival on South Street by Hsueh-Hu Kuo demonstrated how busy Dihua Street was 100 years ago, and how prosperous it was in 1920s.
