活動簡介

臺北表演藝術中心為深化藝術家之間的交流與合作,提供藝術家友善創作環境,協助藝術家發展關係網絡,於2017年策劃發起「亞洲當代表演網絡集會」( ADAM – Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance)( 簡稱「亞當計畫」),將邀集亞太地區藝術家、場館與藝術節夥伴,打造全新網絡。

在全球化藝術產業中,「亞當計畫」將超越政治與經濟藩籬,表演及視覺藝術間的疆界,讓來自各種領域、國籍的藝術家在此相遇,認識學習亞洲文化,並發展未來計畫。首屆年會將在臺北舉辦,自814日至27日匯聚跨領域亞太藝術家,以『藝術家實驗室』、『展演平台』、『交流與論壇』等活動進行多方激盪,描繪亞州當代藝術發展新藍圖。

Taipei Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is thrilled to announce the first Annual Meeting of ADAM – Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance. Taking place in Taipei from 14-27 August in 2017, it will bring together artists and presenters to form a new network across the Asia-Pacific region.

In the globalization arts industry, now more than ever, it is essential to deepen exchanges for artists, provide a friendly space for their creativity, and facilitate their international connections. Initiated by TPAC, ADAM is committed to become a network that performs beyond political and economic barriers; and to being a transparent and liberating platform that welcomes artists, where they can encounter and develop new projects.

Arts professionals are invited to join ADAM, to deliberate and picture how ADAM performs communally, and to be part of a portal for Asian arts that other arts networks will collaborate with.

〈阿棲睞〉Qaciljay

《阿棲睞》為排灣語音譯,石頭之意,更隱含臺灣東岸原鄉居住地景,座落於斜坡上的石頭。以原住民族傳統樂舞「牽手」舞姿的概念出發,及一首嘉蘭部落男子勇士歌舞,彼此激勵扶持的概念為發展,舞者專注反覆唱跳直到終了,不只是體力上的磨練,更是精神上的淬煉。

Qaciljay means stones in the Paiwan language. It also refers to the landscape of our hometown in eastern Taiwan - ‘the stones that sit on the slope’. The dancers adopt the traditional indigenous dance pose - holding hands, taken from a particular piece of warrior’s dance learned from tribal elders in Buliblosan. The dancers elaborate this taking inspiration from the tribal men’s mutual encouragement and assistance. They perform the warrior’s dance repeatedly with all their hearts until the end. It is a dance that not only hones the dancers’ physical strength but also tempers their minds.

「這是一條改變的道路,或許我們沒有辦法改變世界,但我們可以用故事將訊息傳遞出去。」 太魯閣族青年藝術家瓦旦‧督喜與法國藝術家羅蘭‧奧澤走訪舊部落,從相遇、交流至跨文化製作。在TAI身體劇場致力發展的「腳譜」為創作基礎之上,結合羅蘭對戲劇構成與音樂節奏的敏捷感悟,期待跨文化的碰撞,能為互相帶來視野及藝術上的不同開創性。

“This is a road of change. We may not be able to change the world, but we can pass on our stories on stage to the world.” This cross-culture collaboration engages Taiwan Truku artist Watan Tusi and Roland Auzet, an accomplished professional classic music percussionist and music theater director from France. They work together, talk about their meeting, what they share in common artistically and culturally despite their different experiences and cultural backgrounds, and how they relate and response to the world after a field trip to Watan’s tribe in a high and remote mountain.

〈似不舞【s】〉取自排灣族傳統舞蹈「四步舞」的諧音,將傳統四步舞重新解構再重構,推出升級版。似舞非舞、似跳非跳的身體律動,展現舞團獨樹一格的排灣族當代身體符碼,並透過純身體發展詮釋文化脈絡。曾於2016年獲邀至墨西哥塞萬提斯國際藝術節及2017年法國外亞維儂藝術節演出,廣受好評與肯定。

As Four Step is based on the homonyms of the traditional “four-step dance” of the Paiwan people as seen at festivals. The ‘seem-to-be’ body movements and rhythms of the work serve not to present descriptive stories, but rather to highlight the contemporary aesthetics of modern Paiwan dance. As Four Step has received critical acclaim at home and abroad, including at the 2016 Cervantes International Art Festival in Mexico.

這是關於臺灣聲音表演藝術界奇人黃大旺的紀錄片。黃大旺,又名黑狼(黑暗校園民歌之狼)。高中開始自主錄音,聆聽大量多樣的音樂,旅日期間則衍生以即興演奏和電子噪音為主的特色。最終凝煉出特殊的表演途徑:「黑狼那卡西」說唱秀;他在舞臺上混雜各類音樂曲風,並以獨樹一幟的口白、唸歌、肢體動作著稱;亦為臺灣唯一噪音廠牌「旃陀羅唱片」的成員。本片除記錄他令人難忘的表演風格,也呈現他私底下長期為無法適應一般社會而導致的精神焦慮。舞臺上的著魔狀態對照鏡頭前赤裸真實的告白,更讓影片瀰漫一股強大的張力。

“Why do I stand on the stage like this? Because I am a mental disorder of the 20th-century,” declares eccentric musician Huang Da-Wang, also a noise performer, music aficionado and member of the music label, Kandala Records, a pillar of Taiwan’s underground music scene; and who denies himself as an artist, and refuses to define what art is.

TPE-Tics is an intimate look into Da-Wang’s way of life – incredibly different from the norm, largely incompatible with society. As links between his past trauma and present creations are revealed, his psychological anxiety is at once enlightening and heartbreaking. Despite bouts of depression, Huang’s humor and witty introspection relieves the melancholy. More than merely music, the film examines human experiences and nuanced values that are precious yet rarely accessible.

The Asian Film Archive (AFA) presents a series of acclaimed short films directed by a new generation of Southeast Asian filmmakers. Emerging from the grip of political power, these fresh voices mediate on the violence of past and present military regimes and consider the repercussions felt on individual and societal levels. From the micro to the macro, their intimate perspectives allow the audience a more profound access to the socio-political milieu in the region and evoke the ghosts that still resound.

On a lonely night, tuk-tuk driver Nath meets a woman who reminds him of his past. When he returns home, he confesses to his wife that he wants to move. This realization helps them reveal unspoken realities of their marriage dating from the Khmer Rouge regime.

〈狐假虎威 The Fox Exploits the Tiger's Might〉

故事發生在一個寂靜的小村莊裡,村裡有一座軍營,二者關係尷尬。故事講述二個十來歲的男孩對性開始產生好奇的過程,以及他們如何發現性與權力之間的關係。大衛是高官之子,喜歡自吹自擂,阿杉家來自少數民族,家裡是偷偷販賣私酒的煙草商。

Set in the awkward social setting of a sleepy small town with a military base, The Fox Exploits the Tiger's Might is about two pre-teen boys discovering their sexuality and the relationship between power and sex. David is the big-shot boastful son of a high-ranking officer, while Aseng's family is an ethnic minority tobacco merchant who sells bootleg liquor.

《舞蹈診療室》

本講座主要介紹舞蹈醫生徐家輝設計的人工智慧編舞機原型,並藉由舞蹈診療室的概念探討當代編舞的各種病徵。講座將以現場診斷的方式,以神經感應科技駭進腦波活動研究編舞行為,同時示範舞蹈醫生與舞者病患之間如何進行編舞實驗。《舞蹈診療室》便於攜帶,可提供服務給各地鑽研編舞的專業人士。

Introducing Dance Clinic Mobile, the first prototype of an Artificial Intelligence Machine for choreographic processes designed by dance doctor Choy Ka Fai; a portable set-up to provide artistic service to the choreographically inquisitive minds. This lecture-demonstration proposes the concept of a dance clinic to explore the choreographic symptoms of contemporary dance. The live consultation session previews the experiment between the dance doctor and his dance patients, hacking into our own brainwaves to inquire about choreographic practices with neuro-sensing technologies.

《太空計畫:竹林飛船》

結合影片播放與現場演出,這是一齣現代混搭版的「中國科幻小說歌劇」。黃漢明針對粵劇電影與中國科幻小說進行長達三年研究後,企圖透過在各個時間與異體空間的巡航,書寫海外中國文化在亞洲未來大都會的科技環境脈絡下,如何求生存與演進。

The Bamboo Spaceship proposes to combine a moving-image installation and live performance to create a contemporary hybrid of ‘Chinese Science-Fiction Opera’. It is a culmination of a 3-year-long research focus on the parallel histories between Cantonese Opera Cinema and Chinese Science Fiction. The Bamboo Spaceship seeks to navigate across temporalities and spaces of alterity, to reveal a narrative of survival and evolution of diasporic Chinese culture within the technological landscape of an Asian metropolis of the future.

《身體的傳統》

《身體的傳統》為來自臺灣的陳武康與泰國的皮歇・克朗淳,展開臺灣與泰國、個人與群體、記憶與文化的一場舞蹈對話。兩位創作者從自身出發,爬梳個人的歷史記憶,以交流本身作為創作的一種方式,召喚過去的身體樣貌,在一個劇場及社會的歷史座標上,對照、並列、對話、反轉對傳統做最深的探問。

Body Tradition features a dialogue in dance exploring the relationship between Taiwan/Thailand, individual/community and memory/culture. Chen Wu-Kang (Taiwan) and Pichet Klunchun (Thailand) co-create a choreography based on a close examination of their individual memories to evoke a body that belongs to the past. Through the exchange of movement, itself an artistic creation, the performance invites a fundamental inquiry into the tradition through the juxtaposition, contrast, dialogue between, and subversion of, the history of theater and society.
