劇場煉金術？金錢與創意的競合關係

繼2015年的專業藝術管理工作坊探討「財務與募款」及「策略規劃」，今年聚焦於「金錢與創意」的競合關係，如何在製作的預算考量與藝術創意中取得微妙平衡。「創意製作人未來學院」特邀兩位享譽國際的劇場工作者，英國Playful Productions製作經理Simon Woolley及歐陸國際製作專家Barbara Suthoff，從劇場製作面綜觀全局，並權衡最重要的財務議題，這是一門國內外表演藝術製作人皆不可錯過的重量級訓練。

Following the very successful Arts Manager Professional Academy in 2016, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) has set out to organize a new intensive focusing on creating a successful commercial theater, and exploring ways to find equilibrium of balancing your books while maintaining creativity. 2016 Academy for Creative Producers invites two internationally renowned theater producers, Simon Woolley from Playful Productions UK and international touring production expert Barbara Suthoff, from Schauspeilhaus Zürich to bring their expertise in new theatre productions.

In this 5-hour workshop, international relation expert Barbara Suthoff from Companie 111 - Aurélien Bory and Schauspeilhaus Zürich will discuss and explore aspects of the challenges in establishing international touring and international co-productions, including the different strategies of international co-productions, strategies for international touring as well as discussing the different logistical problems before and during the realization of the tour. With her wealth of knowledge from years of experiences bringing world famous productions touring all over the world, this surely is a workshop all creative producers should not miss out!

Many would wonder what are the secrets of creating a successful west-end hit? In this workshop, production expert, Simon Woolley from Playful Productions UK will be providing an insight into the process of producing in the West End. It will look at the current London theatre scene and consider the timeline from first concept through to opening night and beyond, with special focus on raising money, budgeting, engaging staff and securing a venue. Pricing and publicising a production will also be covered, along with tips and possible pitfalls to consider when staging a production. 

Using examples from recent West End productions, it aims to allow delegates a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of the London theatre scene and to encourage discussion on what makes a show a success in this market.
