Marketing Psychology 行銷心理學
Bryan來自愛爾蘭名校三一學院，專長就是行銷心理學，這堂課Bryan要帶領大家解析心理學在商業中的運用，到底廣告、文案甚至商品陳列是如何地影響消費者的行為呢? 第一堂課Bryan會先介紹行銷心理學的概念與例子，第二堂課Bryan會帶大家去參觀IKEA並實際觀察IKEA是如何地應用行銷心理學，第三堂課Bryan要邀請大家做一個小小的分享 ─ 我們要請每位朋友介紹一則你喜歡的行銷心理學的案例，Bryan希望大家能夠運用前兩堂課學到的觀念，以心理學的角度來介紹你所喜歡的行銷行為。
Bryan來自愛爾蘭，曾在都柏林與中國從事教學的工作，今年Bryan來到台灣定居，他說很開心有機會能夠與台灣朋友分享他對心理學的體會，另外Bryan也喜歡閱讀、彈吉他和練習中文。Bryan將以英文授課，但他的中文很流利，如果有比較艱澀的問題也可以以中文詢問老師。
Class Introduction 課程介紹
Class #1
In the first class we’ll discuss some finding from Marketing Psychology relating to the shopping environment. Students will be asked to think about interesting questions like: ‘Why are you unlikely to see a clock in a supermarket?’ and ‘How does music increase how much people drink in a bar?’ I will present the findings of psychological research that answers questions such as these and more.
Class #2
In class 2 we will go on a shopping trip (don’t worry you don’t need to buy anything!). Students will be encouraged to find real world instances of the marketing tactics discussed in lesson 1. We will also debate the ethics of such practices. Are they a necessary part of business, or an underhanded method for exploiting consumers?
Class #3
In the final class we will take a broader view and discuss whether the marketing tactics discussed (which were found to be effective largely in experiments on North American populations) apply in the Taiwanese context. Students should bring their own ideas to the table and suggest what other methods might be effective particularly in Taiwan, or indeed any other country students would like to talk about. Finally, students will be asked if the new information in the class will affect their thinking and behaviour in the future, whether as consumers or as sellers.
