課程目標
動物農莊共10個章節，我們預計每週讀兩個章節，並預計於一月中讀完整部小說。
喜歡故事、或想精進英文閱讀能力的朋友都歡迎參加。我們每週讀兩個章節約10-15頁，每週需要大約1-4個小時的時間閱讀（依閱讀速度不同而有所差異），關於原著小說的難度，請參考連結看電子版。
Animal Farm是英國作家George Orwell的著名寓言小說，農場裡的動物們在趕走農人們後建立了自己的社會與制度，動物領袖們卻又在權力的誘惑下分裂、破敗，動物農莊出版於1945年，在70年後的今天仍被視為經典而廣為流傳，就像書中的一句對白：「所有動物生來平等，但有些動物比其他動物更平等。」，再再提醒人們反思何謂公平、何謂理想的社會。更多介紹請參考wikipedia。
Ellen: Animal Farm is a very short read, it's actually a "novella", which basically just means it's too short to be considered a full novel! It's short, but packed full of fantastic meaning, history, satire and is a very enjoyable, well written story.
12/21 CHAPTER 3&4: We'll review what we read in the first couple of chapters, and the background information. We'll talk about the symbolism, the events and plot, the characters and continue talking about the theme, satire and what it all means. We get to know more of our animals, and what life on the farm is like, and how it relates to society and history.
12/28 CHAPTER 5&6: In chapters 5 and 6 we experience the cold, winter months on the farm. We'll talk about the animals, the animals that disappear, what the animals are planning and what the relationships are like. We'll continue to talk about why and how this is significant to society and history.
